Good question
Personally I think nico has the experience but is too quiet to lead.
I would go for Bevan, Ellis or if he starts- Carlisle.

I would be inclined to go with Nico. Experienced head, consistant performer and can be vocal when he wants to be.

I think Ellis is the vice captain, so captaincy should go to him. If not, nico, that would be fine!
They are after all our joint leading "goal scorers" aren't they?

Maybe making Ellis captain on occasion would entice him to stay...

He's out for this game but will be back for the Oxford match...
Quote from OS-
'Lee Mansell's red card at Gillingham on Saturday will see him miss United's home game with Morecambe this weekend but the two yellow cards he received in the game are nullified and don't count toward his season's tally and he remains one booking away from a further suspension.'

Ok then not Guy, Nico's a good shout.

It has got 2 be either Nicholson or Ellis, i don't think that we have anyone else, + the way that Branston has been performing, maybe it will just add pressure to him.
more importantely, what will the team be? will wroe come back in,maybe oastler or possibly a different formation, can wayne carlisle play a more central role? morecombe struggling this season maybe a more attacking option could be the answer for this one.maybe give elliot benyon or zebs the armband for this one, responsibility could give that extra little bit of confidence needed

I always believe the captain should lead from the back. They get to see all the pitch and play in front of them and the defence / keepers tend to be more vocal any way. I would like to see Branston with it, but if he isn't comfortable then Nicholson.

Agreed, otherwise why bother having a deputy?wurzel wrote:I think Ellis is the vice captain, so captaincy should go to him.
