A Tale Of Three Thirds?

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

Just heard on talksport that FIFA may be considering to play games at the Qatar World Cup in three 30 minute periods due to the heat. I don't know how serious this rumour is but i am led to believe that FIFA are definately considering it. If this is true i will not watch the world cup at all as it will just be a farce. Its a farce anyway to even have it in Qatar! My country, Austria won't be there anyway as we never qualify for anything, we only played the Euros in 2008 coz we joint hosted it! So there is even less reason for me to watch it now if Blatter agrees to this. In my book you simply cannot piss about with the basic rules of football. What do you guys think?

Can't see it happening, but if I was a cynical type - and I am - I'd draw parallels to the suggestion mooted a few years by US networks that the game be divided into 3, for more commercials. Hmm.

I was born in the UK but have Austrian grandparentage and dual nationality so i wasn't born in Austria but i've always considered myself to be Austrian rather than English. I have a lot of issues with regards England which are very deep rooted and i'm not going to go into, but just for the record my main family are from Graz and some relations are from Schwanenstadt.

Hey, if your family are from Graz, does that mean they give you a Sturm talking to when you've been naughty?

Sorry.

With you on some England issues, I'd imagine, too.

Happytorq you are funnier than Jimmy Carr! Actually, most people are funnier than Jimmy Carr. I actually support FC Salzburg ( Red Bull ) to everyone else but idon't like using that prefix. The difference between Austrian fans and English fans is that we know and accept we are shit whereas the English know they are shit but won't accept it! IMMER WIEDER OSTERREICH!

So, they won't have goal line technology for fear al altering the game beyond recognition, but they'll have the world cup in winter, in a country which is smaller than me En-Suite and break the game into thirds, all because Qatar offered the biggest bribe?

**** me, how can their corruption be so blatant, yet so completely unchecked?

Matt.

Well I've been numerous times. I've been to St Wolfgang, Obergurgl, Niederau, but our usual destination is Seefeld, in the Tyrol region. Going again in about 2 weeks, cannot wait!
