Competition for Olejnik

Post by Trojan 67 »

It's all gone quiet on who will be in competition with "Ollie" for a starting place between the sticks.

Martin Rice ?

York City are among those who have shown recent interest.

Would Martin Rice be interested if Dinger wished to sign him ? More importantly, how would fans react if Martin Rice returns ?

Is he the only goalkeeper to save a penalty at the rebuilt Wembley in open play ?

I worked on the same site as Martin a few months ago when he was labouring for a 2&1 gang. It was when Salisbury had all those games in hand over Truro.

I asked how he was getting on at Truro and the interest from York City popped up in conversation.

It's only a rumour, however, I heard the very same thing on site this morning on at 7.30 am.

It's probably exeweb members being mischievous.

I heard the "rumour" on a site in Torquay from someone who has worked with Martin Rice.

I've had some good banter on this particular construction site. The labour force all being a hard working bunch of lads from Plymouth/Exeter/Torquay. :-D

Hope not. He wasnt even good enough for the BSP with us let alone League Two. The fact he's also an Exeter fan means I'd rather we didnt touch him with a barge pole.

Being a very capable 'keeper yourself who has played at the same equivalent level, you have understandable doubts about 'keepers who step up to League football from said level.

I'll be the first to hold up my pop - in - goalie hand and admit I preferred Raynor/Poke/Bevan over Rice.

If the rumour proves true and Rice signs, we'll see any improvement (or not) in ability in pre-season games.
