Palmer to Truro on loan

Post by CP Gull »

According to the TUFC Twitter feed.

Would be a good move for young Ed as he will be gaining valuable experience at a decent level - Blue Square Bet South, with a decent squad and a decent bloke in charge too (Lee Hodges).

Exactly the sort of move I would like to see some of our younger pros make at this stage of their careers - would be quite happy to see the likes of Yeoman and Spear join him there too.

Great move for Ed, will give him good experience and hopefully get him some games under his belt at a good level. Wonder if that means we will see another centre half arriving on loan, or whether we'll just have a 24 hour recall clause.

yeah, very good move for the boy.

i can't see us bringing in another CB at this stage. Saah, Robbo, Ellis, and Oastler & LRT can both play there, with cover at both full backs, i think we've got enough. of course that could change with injuries etc.

Good move I feel. Will be more beneficial playing competitive football in the Blue Square South than playing for our reserves for a season. Would like to see Yeoman and Spear to make loan moves to similar teams to further develop as well.

I personally can't see us bringing another CB in at all. Saah, Robbo and Ellis will be first choice so a loanee is unlikely to be played so would be pointless bringing in. In the event of an injury to one or more (hopefully not more) of our CB's I imagine we'll use a short loan to bring in cover or have a recall clause in Palmer's contract, although let's not forget we can always put Oastler, LRT and even McPhee in there if needs be.

Agree that another centre back is probably not needed. Was just wondering whether people thought Ling would bring someone else in or not.

Would definately like to see Yeoman and Spear go and get some experience at that level, I think playing in our reserves is better than playing at a lower than BSS level but if Truro were interested in them then I'd be more than happy to see them go there. I have a feeling though that this could be Yeomans season to step it up. I don't know whether he is seen as more of a midfielder than a striker these days though as in the reserves last season he seemed to play in centre midfield or on the wing a lot more than up front.

Would be interesting as well to see whether Halpin may go out on loan at some stage. Somebody with reasonable potential, may need to go out and get some first team football and I'd be interested to see whether a team at Conference level would be interested in him on loan for a few months. If he isn't going to get football here, then it would be better him getting games elsewhere at his stage of development.
