MOTM again. Every time he is allowed to play he picks up these awards, and yet there are those who do not rate him.
This is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

Ellis should be in the team anyway ahead of Saah. Said this from day one. Yes he is prone to mistakes but not as many or as indecisive as Saah it seems.

In the Yeovil friendly Tuesday, he played very well- captaining the side too.

Certainly on the evidence of one home PSF and two home league games Saah cannot be a better bet than Ellis. At least Ellis attacks the aerial balls although I agree that occasionally he gets caught out of position. Glad he got his chance today.

They're probably the people who saw his performance level go down like a $5 whore, around Christmas/New Year last season. Shocking performances that cost us goals and probably matches. If he's managed to stop ball watching and remembered his positioning then fair play to him.
If he was that good, how come nobody came in for him in the January window after all those MOTM performances?

Unlike Saah who was wanted by a host of clubs over the summer?

Well, someone decided they wanted him, did they not?

A perfect response Fatherjack, one to which i cannot reply to. Hats off. Just saying that IMO Ellis is better than Saah.

And to be fair AAG, I think he should be given a run of 5 or 6 games soon to see if he can nail down a place, and prove he's corrected what were, to be honest, basic errors that most youth players get drummed out of them. I fear it wont be Saah that he replaces though after todays swap round

Andy can't, I can.
Ellis was wanted by the same man who wanted Saah, which is why he wasn't shown the door when Dinger arrived.
There weren't a host of clubs in for Eunan, nor Stanley, nor Zebroski, bet you'd have them in your starting XI. A lack of outside interest does not automatically signal a lack of ability.
Saah, as Jeff's mate so eloquently and succinctly put it, was a bag of shit today and Ellis was the only player in yellow who left the field with any credit at half time. But for an excellent last ditch tackle from Rene Howe (not a typo), he could well have had a goal.
Matt.

Fiatfondler, you know as well as i do, he was under contract (as were most of the players) so showing him (or any of the others) the door wouldnt have freed up any money for a replacements.
There was certainly plenty of interest in Eunan, I sat next to a scout that represents several Championship clubs in the SW (like Milts did for us and others around London) at the Crewe match last season. He came to check out Ellis for someone, gave up on him part way through and left with notes on Eunan rating him very highly.
Would I have Zebroski in the side. Of course, but he has "baggage" that puts other clubs off. Stanley was wanted back at Morecambe when Bentley took over and obviously went to Rovers so there was interest other than us. Would I have him in the side? Depends on who he replaced. I think Eunan is a technically better player with more vision and will improve with the maturity that he gains from being a regular starter so no, I wouldnt start him ahead of Eunan.

We have had bids for Ellis and Eunan this summer. But none of the bids that came in was not close enough to the clubs valuation.
Intrest in Eunan is very high and he could seriously be gone by the time Jan comes around. Derby is one of thoose that are very keen in him.
To add to what you said, Stanley did want to come back to us but he didnt know who the manager was at the time so he couldnt sign. He said that he couldnt come to a club that may have a manager that doesnt like him. Which was a fair enough reason. The move to rovers was perfect for him.
I do find it intresting that people think Saah played that bad, quite a few people i have spoke to said he played well and made a few important challenges to stop clear chances. Then on here people say he was bad. Can i ask are people saying hes awful because they clearly dont like the guy?
I must say he didnt sound that bad when i had gulls player on during the game. Just to add Saah was wanted by a few sides in league 2 also one of those were Crawley.

"We turned down a bid for Mark Ellis from a League One club," said Buckle.
"Mark knows about it, but it was nowhere near the valuation we are looking for.
"It is the first transfer offer to come through (in the January transfer window), but it normally heats up in the last week of the window.
If you go to the website and search for Mark Ellis, the first page is mainly stories about us rejecting L1 bids for him over various transfer windows.

Are you really trying to convince me that the only reason Ellis is still here is because it was too expensive to end his contract?
So, Ellis isn't championship class, who knew? Everyone, that's who.
Regardles of the remainder of the message, your original premise that simply because no one came in for Mark, he must not be as good as we all think. No one came in for Ryan Lowe, telling me he's rubbish too?
Matt.
