Buckle V Fat Boy Evans

Different venue, different budget but the same old story every time!

Those Gasheads have some adapting to do to get used to the mercurial Paul Buckle and his tactics.

So pleased that we’ve swapped him for a proper manager.....

I wonder whether buckle has bitten off more than he can chew taking on rovers job. Reading the linked thread it appears that some rovers fans are starting to see what we saw.

I have just got back from Crawley, and it was as grim as the scoreline suggests. I'd say for the majority of Rovers fans Buckles honeymoon period is over after a few iffy results, and he has come in for some stick (mainly after subbing Joker4 last week). I have never taken to Buckle as a bloke, but he will still have my support if he gets us up- and there is a long, long way to go. For the record, we were very, very entertaining v Watford in the Cup, but other than that, performances haven't really lived up to the pre season hype.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Some wonderful flak being aimed at Buckle on the Rovers forum. Quite satisfying to see him getting his comeuppance but much earlier than expected. They are questioning his man-management skills of all things...fancy that!

Can't blame the pitch today. His team selection was bizarre to say the least.

To be fair we were well and truly stuffed today.Gave them the same two goal lead we gave yourselves and Leyton orient but the difference was today it got worse.apart from their goalkeeper taking his time over everything there were only two other attempts to get penalties which could be construed as "cheating". for the purist they dont play much foiotball, mainly big boots and long throws but it enables them to build up a lot of pressure and they are very good at what they do. On saying that it ius difficult to judge whether it was our poorness which made them look good. Brilliant free kick but the other three goals should have been prevented just by "normal " defending. wqell done to you, looks a very good result.

That is pretty much how I felt after they beat us. I don't think there are any sides that can compete with them when they play like they did against us and seemingly today against you.

They ARE very good at what they do and the pressure they put on teams and the tempo they play at is the best I've seen since we got back in the league. Barnett looks class and totally committed in everything he does. As much as I dislike Evans, he's built a very very good side.

Some thought they'd be too good for us as well. Welcome to League Two :)

True. They came down here with the wrong attitude and there fastly learning that League Two isnt as easy as they thought it would be....And that Buckles exactly what we said he was so its pleasing that weve been proven right in what we told them.

Being serious for a minute, I think you're finding out all about Buckle as a manager just the same as we did. I think it's safe to say that Buckle isn't missed by many at TUFC and under Ling there just seems to be a real honesty and integrity that you rarely get with Buckle. I'd love to see you guys battling it out with Crawley for the title.................but only after Buckle is dismissed.
