The English Riviera in March

Post by gasrex »

Unfortunately for you lot, Torquay has been designated as our annual weekend piss up for the year, and our little troop of ageing Gasheads will be hitting sunny-ish Devon in March (lock up your grandmothers). I'm sure plenty of other Gas will be making a weekend of it, so I will apologise for any meatheads (sorry, theres always a few) you encounter in advance.
There's about 15/16 of us with an average age pushing 50, and while we are more than capable of finding the local Wetherspoons, we do need to find out suitable nightspots for a ahem, more mature clientele. Don't bother recommending gay bars for a laugh ( though it was quite amusing seeing the eldest member of our group chatting to a glamorous middle aged 'bird' for 10 minutes before he spotted the adams apple in Bournemouth last year) but where can we go in town for a heavy drinking, raucous sing song , grab a granny type place later on?

Isn't Bournemouth a better place for the "older" girls?

In the 70's it was Hammersmith Palais on a Thursday night for Grab a Granny!

If I went in such an establishment now the 'Grannies' would be younger than me although I wouldn't object to 'Grab a Grandad' (I'm fully qualified with 4 little rug rats running around the houses of my numerous children!) :)

What are all the smilies about ? "Troj you old git" or "no gay clubs" ? :|

Old git I am for sure. As for gay, in my growing up days it meant happy and carefree. Then f'cked up queer people (homosexuals and the politically correct) came along and corrupted the language. :@

To straighten things out, a World War One bayonet up the f'cked up chocolate motorway should do the trick.

You want bars such as Green ginger which is weatherspoons and another one is the Green room, you've got to be over 25 for this one so you will be fine :~D .
