There is only one Simon Baker

Simon Baker was roundly slammed by many for apparently escorting Buckle to mem and making all to easy for Buckle to fork off up to Rovers.

One look at Rovers forum tonight i am now starting to think it was actually a masterstroke on behalf of the club by Mr Baker.

This thread is priceless...http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/t ... interview/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sorry Rovers fan's it just had to be done :)

BUCKSPEAK !!!!! IT LIVES ON....

Jeepers reading that I'm starting to feel sorry for them....again. The BRFC board will not be able to sack him as swiftly as they have with their previous managers. All clubs have to lower expectations when they build a new ground, maybe Bucks is the fall guy for this.

Strange though, when all is said and done they are two points away from where we are so the neutral may ask why so much negativity up there and so much optomism at TQ1 ?

For once I'd like to hear from BRFC supporters as well as ours on this.

Think we owe them a great debt of gratitude, they paid us for this guy! =D

Very good question Dave.P.

For me it is down to expectation's,league 2 is not Rovers natural level they at least a safe league 1 club in stature and with a new stadium in the pipeline the idea there right now , i think is to lay the foundations for championship football.

for our point of view it is simple, from the team that should have gained promotion, the manager left, the club then failed to sign for what ever reason Tomlin, Jakey and Stanley, and lost Zebs , Branno and Bevan, new manager nad to re build have a reduced player budget, the talk back in June on here was all about a forth coming relegation scrap.

Ok we may only have 3 wins, however only 1 defeat, our team is showing real fighting spirit and under Lingy does not seem to give up , or know when they beaten, at the moment i am fairly confident of a top half finish, which as said back in june we all would ahve been delighted with.

Now enough of that back to the banter, just rad htrough there alternative forum, one poster ends his comment with " sort it out Buckle" now where have we heard that before

Quite like this thread too:

Just seems that somebody has copied a load of threads on here from when Bucks was manager, changed Torquay to Brizzle R and then used them, such is the similarity in what is written!!

What would you like to know? we were shite, and I mean SHITE, today was one of the most turgid, boring games of football I have seen - and I have been watching us since 73/74 season. I have been to every home game, and went to both Wimbledon and Crawley away, and the only decent performances were at Wimbledon and home to Watford in the League Cup ( To be fair, we were very entertaining in that game). I will be at Morecambe next week, the only reason being it will be a new ground for me, but I am rapidly losing any pre season optimism I may have had.
I know that there seems to be a lot of bitterness from Torquay fans towards Buckle, presumably something to do with the way that he left you, in which case I think we should do the honourable thing, and let you have him back. :~D

We'll settle for Zebs and Stanley, they seem to perform so much better for our "tinpot" little club ;-)

Am I missing something? I can't see any reference to Torquay being a 'tinpot' club, if there is I apologise on behalf of decent Rovers fans who have some sense of the exact stature of our own club at the moment :(

I quote:

"Yes we should all lower our expectations and expect not to beat teams like Hereford and Aldershot at home.

He isnt managing at a tinpot club anymore, but he's certainly turning us into one."

Well I am for the first time thinking that BritishGAS was probably right. There is certainly likely to be two divisions between us in five years time! ;-)

Very much like to applaud the Bristol Useless fan and Stefano for a couple of quality jokes.

Matt.
