Just a mini thought from myself. I have seen on other fans' forums they have a 'quote of the week' from someone on the board, perhaps something amusing or particualrly interesting. It would obviously have to be more of a 'one-liner' quote but i was wondering what others think of this idea?

Perhaps the quote of the month could be displayed proudly at the top of the page next to 'member of the month'

You can always start a monthly thread that people can post their favourites on.

Mine would be "Matt"

I'm unsure as to whether "quote of the month" is to be a badge of honour worn with pride or a wooden spoon to be battered about the person with from all angles.





Badges, spoons, then there's the sword that cuts both ways.

Good to know a few people are interested. As long as that's the case i'll start up a thread towards the end of next month? Or do you think it should be on for the whole month so you can just post your favourite as and when you see it?

yeah, get people to post throughout the month, and at the end of the month, we can somehow vote for a winner.

Just trying to think of the best way to go about it. I guess once people post their favourites others can vote by simply posting it again?

Do phpBB allow a voting button on posts? Maybe people could do it that way?

Yeah good idea scott, but if not i assume people will just have to re-comment the quote they like best.

Should the 'favourite quote' just be from people on the board, or maybe if someone heard someone say something funny from the club, like Howe saying "Pleased to get 0-0 considering we were 2-0 down"?

Just re-post the quote in this thread. Then they're all in one place, and it gives people a chance to see any they missed. That format works well on other forums, and it always makes a great thread.

'Ere Gulli, is there any way we can post it as a quote, given that the original post will doubtless be in a different thread than this one?

Yeah, click quote in the top right corner, and copy and paste it into a reply in this thread.
