No, not another link to the OS, which is something I dislike doing.

I wonder, does this ticket offer show the intent of the manager? Is he saying, basically, that he sees those as the two key games to get people into the ground. Obviously, we want a big crowd in anyway, but is he trying toconvince those who may just be considering not bothering to come, in the hope or belief that he can shake up the team to perform in those two games, get two wins and play some attractive football to convince the doubters that the last few weeks are a blip and not a sign of impending doom?

Or do we think it is a tactic of a desperate, drowning man, trying to buy himself another couple of matches in charge?

Or is it the other way round, is he hoping to get in a big gate to spur on the team on the pitch?

Or is it a money making venture to pay for the breeze blocks and cement newly homed on the Pop side?

Or some other answer, perhaps a combination of all or some of the above?

I can’t see this being the province of the manager anyway. It is surely a commercial decision based on supply and demand factors.

Given the recent run of form demand will drop. Anything that boosts the gates and increases income is therefore a good move.

This has nothing to do with the manger, and everything to do with board which sat and watch it's side get humped 5-2 at the weekend and could here the many boo's around the ground at the final whistle. They are well aware that those games are ones where the crowds may well just avoid and they are trying to do something to help keep up the numbers on the gate. I still think it would have been cheaper to give Ling some extra salary budget and allowed him to dip into the loan market

He has already said he has the readies for bringing in loanees, wants to get the answers from within the squad though (yeah right) :Oops:

And here was Matt and I thinking that the boos were for Alans Birfday. one boo for every year. That should have em booing for at least an hour lol

Pretty much what you pay (or a bit cheaper, depending on exchange rate) for a Torquay shirt, though.

I sent an email to the club about a month ago suggesting that they should look at reducing prices in future games. I said from the Gillingham game to Barnet over two months up to xmas we have FIVE home league games with just THREE away. Also in that period is two FA Cup weekends and the possibility of two more matches.

I suggested that bearing in mind Gillingham/Wimbledon will bring some away support and Argyle fill the away end it was the Hereford and Barnet games they had to target. I suggested either making Hereford £12 and Barnet £10 also possibly have kids for a quid somewhere. People paying significantly cheaper are more likely to buy a programme or food when they wouldnt normally. Also the Argyle game will be dearer too.

These price reductions I suggested were before Bradford came out with their £5 ticket for everyone and other clubs reducing prices quite a bit too. They did reply immediately saying that the chairman was looking at attendances and prices and that they were looking for a package for the Wimbledon/Hereford game with it being two in a week, so this hasnt just happened because of the last couple of results. I was really hoping that it would be a big saving in order to tempt people to go and get a ticket but when it appears its just a saving of £5 if i was to go to two games on the popside. Ok its something but that isnt going to tempt people at all, some might who go to most games but not enough for a season ticket whilst others will just pick one game rather than two (probably Wimbledon as we havent played them for years and Hereford is usually a dull game). The offer really should have been a TENNER at least, more fans would have taken the offer.

So its not enough by the club and it was also very poorly marketed on the OS. When you saw the heading "DONS & BULLS" on there did you rush to click on it thinking there was going to be a money saving offer? Of course you didnt you probably just thought it was a small piece on two upcoming fixtures. Is it really that hard to put a heading with "REDUCED TICKET OFFERS"? ...........
