Kit Sponsor

Post by tufcbrett »

This will seem quite random to people but i just thought about it earlier.

Does anyone know when our shirt deal with vandanel finishes. Or anyone know if we are staying with them longer. Been watching a few games over the last few days and seen some really nice kits that i thought would look nice in yellow and blue. I like the current kit and im not slagging them off saying we should have a new range.

Just intrested to know if it is coming to and end soon or not. I would guess many people would want someone different. I wasnt sure if anyone mentioned during the long weight for the kit over the summer that it finished the end of this season.

The club has a franchise deal with Vandanel, which if memory serves me right comes to an end, at the end of this season.

To be honest i do not know if the club plan to move to a new kit supplier, i believe certain people within the club are not fans of Vandanel, however as said not sure whether the club would move to a new supplier.

Nike Brazil style would be good, then again we'll probably get Primark. :P Personally I'm not a fan of the graphics that Vandanel have started doing to our kits, that's why I haven't upgraded my shirt Dave (forevertufc) I'm not a stinge honnest. :na:

I only update if i like the kit, and i did actually like this one, however one thing i have realised if the club was to move to a new supplier , that would mean new home and away kits again next term.

I really wouldnt mind that though. If im honest id like to see a new sponsor. Looking through so many clubs and they got a better range of stuff from the shirts, to training kit and so on.

But if Torquay get a new range they may actually get more money out of the sales, dont vandanel get most of the profits from any sale.

Thats a good point Forever and but if this were to happen it might not be a bad thing financially. Yes there will be fans who might not buy a new shirt upon its release pre-season as they have shelled out for the current one; however, they will have two years to buy one if they really want one so the club will still get sales. I think we should cut loose at ditch Vandanel as not only is the current shirt disgusting and cheap looking and made of horrible material but i am sick of their delays on actually doing what a kit supplier should be doing, supplying kits. I haven't yet bought the new home shirt and i might still not but i generally buy one out of habit so although i hate it, the fan in me wants to own one. I like the carbrini shirts that donny, oldham and crewe wear. Hate nike and adidas though. Oh and there is just NO place in 2011 when you are forking out 40 odd quid for a shirt for a club crest that is NOT emroidered on the shirt. Those stuck on / ironed on plasticky badges like ours are a disgrace.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

That would depend on what type of franchise deal they have with the club, someone with a greater understanding of how franchises work might be able to help us out here, i should imagine they are paying the club a franchise maintenace fee, and possibly a % of the profits, or something along those lines.

I think the overall problem our club has, is the sales from shirts and other merchandise is chicken feed in the grand scheme of things.

Big name brands are not going to interested in us, so the choice will limited, it would more likely be some like Cabrini if the club chose to move.

its well documented that i hate vandanel, i really do hope it is the end of this season so we can then get a timeless well designed, well made kit by a better known manufacturer, i love adidas originals kits, but they dont seem to manufacture any more, whens the last time anyone saw the trefoil on a football shirt, 1986 world cup finals? certainly every one thru the 70-s was sporting the classic logo. my first football shirt was holland from 74, so cool and the names still trip off your tongue. my personal favourite was the france kit and team from 84 euro's i think, six, tigana, platini, giresse, rocheteau, battiston, dunno why they dont do them?

http://www.vintagefootballshirts.com/pr ... id279.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to see the white away version of it, and the one previous to it on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adidas-France ... 19ca641195" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

so failing the reawakening of a sleeping giant i'd favour a nike kit these days. normally i'm all in favour of the small boys (please dont misquote me here, THE small boys, not just small boys, super i'm keeping my eye on you!!) over a massive behemoth, but i cant say that i'm taken by any of the current smaller scale set ups?

As said previously, there is no chance we'd get someone like Nike or Adidas on board. We'd make them peanuts and I could see us getting an equally poor service because we'd be put right at the bottom of their priorities list. Carbrini is a good shout and maybe Kappa too. The only trouble with Italian shirt companies is that they like to make their shirts skin tight, I'm not the thinnest of people and I've seen some of my fellow fatties in the ground, Kappa especially would not be a pretty sight!

They do both, skin tight and normal if need be. I have always been a big fan of Kappa.

Saying that Nike and Adidas are about in the lower leagues. Oxford, Bradford, Macclesfield to name a few.
Was looking into it and Errea and Puma are very popular around the lower league. I would like puma as i think they have made some nice kits this season for Plymouth, Rotherham, Crawley ect.

Would like something new, but deep down i could see Vandanel getting a new deal with us.

i disagree about nike, there are several smaller clubs in england that wear their gear, cant think who off the top of my head.

kappa are just as bad as vandanel, i have a soft spot for as roma and they've worn kappa for years, consistently crap kits with kappa logo far too prominent in every design

what about umbro or admiral??

oxford bradford southend nike
argyle crawley morecambe rotherham puma
barnet bury surridge
shrews joma
shots cheltenham gas errea
crewe cabrini
swindon macc adidas
burton ?
torquay vale vandanel

just a quick trawl thru the 4th division section of that website has gleaned the above list, obviously oxford and bradford are potential big sellers, but i cant imagine southend would sell many more than we would and nike have done a deal with them?
