Decent interview with Bobby from Sky Sports. Good insight into his career and we seemed to be the only offer on the table for him. Crazy considering he's been superb for us.

Reading what Bobby says, i kind of leads me to think that clubs up in Scotland either did not want or could not afford to sign him, and when he says there were a few , we will look at you if we have any money left in the budget, would suggest that a lot clubs did really know anything about him.
I read a few suggestions across tu forums that Martin Ling may not have any contacts, well the signing of Bobby should tell us all that he clearly does, if lingy had not been scouting up Scotland, maybe Bobby would not be here with us.
He is a solid keeper and we are lucky to have him, my concern now is how long can our club hold on to the lad.

As a nation we (Austria) have produced some fine keepers in the past, just a shame our outfield players are crap! My favourite keeper apart from Bobby being Klaus Lindenberger with the illuminous garish stripey jersey in Italia 90. Shame it didn't work as we lost 1-0 both to Italy ( I still harbour deep hatred towards Toto Scillaci!) to the then Czechoslovakia and managed to beat USA 2-1. Olejnik is no exception for what i have seen of him so far. He can play at a much higher level than he is at the moment and i don't anticipate him being with us for too long sadly. He sounds very ambitious and now he has his chance he wants to take it ( unlike some other Torquay players i could mention ). I am very happy that he chose to come to Torquay to resurrect his career as he will do well for us. If he went back to Austria he will probably end up at some thrid rate side anyway like Gratkorn or First Vienna as the bundesliga is very small with teams having international keepers already.

Hey Manninger was a good shot stopper and did really well for a while at Arsenal before it went arse up. Yeah he was a bit of a flapper but good on his day and also played in serie A. Jurgen Macho was never given a chance in the English game either. Before you lot go slagging off Austrian keepers, Scott Carson, Chris Kirlkland, Robert Green anyone?

All three of those are better than Manninger though
