Rene interview on bbc website, seem very happy at Torquay and is looking to settle down.

Saw this earlier, very good news all round, nice to see the squad are settling and becoming good friends so important, and as for Rene a lot doubted him, personaly was not sure however now he is looking fit and a bit slimmer the club are seeing the best Rene Howe..long may it continue.

I bet Rene is well happy, especially after his very recent goal scoring exploits.


Now stop sulking Taiwo and put the effort in otherwise your career is deader than sh't.

To be fair Troj, Tai has put the effort in on recent sub performances its just that he isn't very good and doesn't make the effort when he starts. Howe is a quality finisher and can hold the ball up generally well but thats all you're gonna get from him unless he gets fit. He's not one of the better strikers we have had but he can do a job for now. Not sure how long Howe can be a success at Torquay as if he stops getting the service then he will effectively be of no use to us.

When Rene is facing the opposition goal his finishing is lethal as his recent goals prove.


It's when he's got his back to goal and too far away from the goal as the link man that his limitations become apparent. His lack of pace fails to get him back in the danger zone in quick enough time.

On another note, when players come in (like Lathrope and Ellis) and make the most of the opportunity presented to them and consistently perform out of their skins, then it won't be long until the bench has players like Robertson, Nicholson, Bodin, O'Kane and such like warming their arses.

Now how's that for strength in depth with the means to turn games.
