Has been rumoured for a while, but Mark Mcghee has now been announced as new Bristol Rovers Manager.

Seems the big boys of league 2! have turned to Mark McGhee to turn around their fortunes!
In fairness it seems a decent appointment to me.

Looked up his record last night and the bloke is a train wreck. Walked out on his first two jobs, and since then has been sacked from every appointment. Has been relegated more times than he has done anything else and does not have a good record with struggling teams. Lasted 6 months in his previous job, guided some Scottish crap to a 9-0 hammering by Celtic and an 8-1 aggregate defeat by an obscure Czech team as well as winning 2 from 15 (or some such madness).
Loads of experience granted, but he's never been a sustained success anywhere, it's a 'no from me, Bob.
Matt.

Even the best managers can have bad experiences with a club sometime in their careers; just look at Paul Buckle's experience at Bristol Rovers..ferrarilover wrote:Looked up his record last night and the bloke is a train wreck. I don't think McGhee is as bad a manager as you've indicated. But it wouldn't surprise me, if in three months' time he has not worked a quick miracle, Rovers fans will be calling him Mr Magoo and wanting him out. They should lower their expectations..

Seems he has made more than a few good noises to get the fans behind him today. They are taking 1,500 up to Whaddon road. That could add 50% to Cheltenhams gate. they can't get any more tickets. nice to see the man come in quietly and hopefully let the football do the talking.Gullscorer wrote: Even the best managers can have bad experiences with a club sometime in their careers; just look at Paul Buckle's experience at Bristol Rovers..
