Only seen the "stamp" once, in normal speed and it looks like he's lost his balance and put his leg back, as anyone would. Hope he stays in the country as I love the bloke! People don't like him because he's a character. I'd much rather have people like him and Di Canio in the game than all boring people who never do anything out of the blue.

He tried to stamp on him - no question. He needs to stop crying about it. Cowardly act and rightly punished (should of been more in my opinion). He is a character but does not excuse him from the rules. If he had fully connected with parker then it could well be GBH and no diffrent from the punishment Zebroski received IMO.

Not being funnny but you don't put your leg backwards if you lose your balance. It's a stamp ban him and hopefully then he can eff off back to Italy. It's a shame because he obviously is talented but he is also a loose cannon.

Unbelievable. It's the rest of football that needs protection FROM Balotelli. He's gonna seriously injure another player, before too long. Hope his agent DOES remove him from the British game. Good riddance I say.

Di Canio and Balotelli are two completely different characters IMO. I like Di Canio, there are accusations that he is a fascist but Di Canio has passion and shows it, he has fire, he has a work ethic, he has commitment, he is eccentric and he speaks his mind. Balotelli is just one of those spoilt players who think they are better than they are so do't have to do anything and think they can get away with anything. In short he is like a 5 year old and doesn't have a cerebrum. In reality he is a nobody because in a year or so he will be out of City and plying his trade back in Italy for Roma or somebody because he is too dim to realise that if you don't have a world class talent ( which he doesn't ) - it takes more than being statuesque on scoring a goal to become a great. Joey Barton is another one, just because he posts banal cack on twitter that dense people in the football world don't understand then people think he is some sort of profound, misunderstood bohemian with an IQ of 5000. Newsflash, the bloke is just another overpaid tool without a brain, i would respect him more if he had principles, stuck to them and did a university degree in politics or philosophy. Characters are fine in football but there only a handful who are genuine, humble people. The rest like Ballotelli can just go and f**k right off back to Italy for all i care.

Seems pretty clear to me that this is merely a ploy by the agent to strike up some sympathy for his client from the public, and also referees...

Enigma being the operative word. Keeps you guessing when he is going to do something but most of the time doesn't do anything for weeks then scores a penalty. WOW! What a talent! I suppose we should put Rooney into the same bracket?

You cannot deny Mario has talent. It takes an enormous talent to score a penalty aswell especially at 2-2 and you can win the game.

In real time it does look like an accident, but when you see it slowed down it certainly appears as if he moved his foot deliberately towards Parker's head. It's a tough one to call. Only Balotelli will know whether it was deliberate or not.

I can see where the comments about feeling persecuted are arising from, when you see what Rooney got away with against Wigan last season and Crouch not receiving any reprimand for his stupid action over the weekend (personally I don't think there was anything in it, but it was certainly something that action could have been taken on). Having said that the comments are a little bit childish.

It really annoys me when footballers are seemingly willing to waste their talents through stupidity and poor attitude. Most real fans would give anything to have a small percentage of their ability and play football for a living, yet they act as if they don't care and are more happy to live the high life, or sit on the bench getting paid a hefty sum for nothing. Proper pet hate of mine!

Sentiment is much as I anticipated.

I didn't dare ask how this incident compared to Rene's transgression at Stanley before Christmas?
