Mark Ellis is Player of the Month

Post by Gullscorer »

Mark Ellis nominated!

A year ago - even six months ago - who'd have thought that we would be where we are today, or that players we would not have considered to be future regular members of the team have now developed and progressed beyond our expectations. Obviously I'm not the only one who has been impressed by Mark Ellis's recent performances and his nomination as January's League Two Player of the Month is fully deserved.

But the same could be said of other members of the team. Martin Ling and his coaching staff, along with the players themselves, have worked wonders over the past few months.

For me, Ling would already be my choice as Manager of the Season. :-D

I am sure we all 100% behind Mark Ellis and all the management and team, here's hoping he wins the award.

I think it says a lot about Martin Ling and his staff that they have brought out the best in their players over the season, Mark Ellis an obvious example, and players whom we would not have rated during the summer have improved vastly and have turned out to be far better footballers than supporters thought they would ever be. Danny Stevens is but one who comes to mind. And it's the manager, his staff, scouts and contacts, who have seen and brought out the potential in all the members of the squad, to whom we should be grateful for the current success of the team.

I've always rated ME - couldn't understand why he spent so much time in the background although perhaps there is a clue in Chris Hargreaves book.
