Well they managed to kill another three yesterday, I wonder if you can actually bet on how many horses get killed today! That`s 5 dead horses so far over the Festival Of Horses Killing! Horses are far from my favourite animal, in fact I don`t really like them at all to honest, but I do feel it`s an extremely cruel and barbaric sport they enter them in! This post will undoubtedly upset our punting fraternaty and other addicted gamblers and I kind of expect some rather limp kind of justification about how these animals are well looked after and indeed actually loved! Bollox, the money the bookies make and the money the owners make is what it is all about, prestige my arse, what prestige is there in killing animals for entertainment? Ban horse jump racing, sod the Queen!

I am a punter and have worked with horses for a good few years too Aussie but i generally agree with your sentiments. Horse racing is all about money - take the betting away or the prize money for top races and you won't have any racing. You might get a handful of trainers who do it for fun so essentially it is the exploitation of animals for financial gain. The problem with national hunt meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National are that there are just too many horses in each race and the races are too long. It's always gonna be carnage. The new whip rule that recently came into force is a joke too. Why do jockeys need to whip a horse? Will the horse stop? Evidently not as in countries like Norway i believe they have a total whip ban. The only excuse that the racing fraternity cited in defending the whip ban was purely about aesthetics. I.E it looks better for the punter who has backed the horse if the jockey is slamming it six or seven times in the home straight as it at least gives the impression that he is trying! Unbelievable! There are other corrective methods that can be used during a race. Horse racing is a very middle to upper class pursuit in terms of ownership, training and other equestrian industries and they should know better but it's the boneheads in the betting shops who have no brains and will spend their dole money on anything that moves that are a bigger problem. I,ve been in betting shops and heard 'people' shouting things like, 'hit the ****' and come on whack it whack it!' and 'put the **** thing down' if it has lost. Many times i've had a go at them and they have been shocked that somebody who frequents a bookies regularly actually cares about anything other than wasting money, swearing, eating shit, drinking, smoking, dressing like a tramp deliberately and signing on. Comments like these get my back up and i'll have a go. At least horse racing is regulated though as opposed to greyhound racing. Greyhound racing should have gone out with the ark and for it to still be thriving in 2012 is testament to the scale of the problem we hae in this country in terms of old school morons who have nothing between their ears. They can grunt a bit though. Seeing a pile of dead dogs on fire is not a pretty sight.

Damn dude, I was really fishing for people who would be sick enough in the head to actually try and counter my initial statement! You`ve just killed dead, all my ammo is gone now!
I personally don`t go into bookies or place bets anywhere due to 2 facts, 1 I can`t afford it and, 2 I ain`t a mug! Maybe that will get `em out, gambling is a game for the those that can afford to throw money away! I do not fall into that catagory, beer is a hobby!
