Away game Gulls

Went down to Swindon game with Drummer (nice to meet you and welcome to a lift anytime) and one of our discussions was around Gulls like myself that go to many more away games than home games, and what we could do to earn the club some cash.

I probably go to 1 home game for every 10 away games that I see, and I guess that I am therefore lining the pockets of the clubs I'm visiting rather than the club I am supporting. Haven't got any magical answers, but I'm guessing from this forum that there are quite a number of us 'exiles' around. I know that there is the Gulls Player and I assume that the club gets some kind fo revenue from that, but does anybody have any bright ideas on how someone like myself can contribute more towards the club? We've talked before about posting out programmes by way of subscription etc. and I've got just about everything that I could possibly need from the club shop. Anybody have any ideas?

Being the same as you and lining other clubs pockets rather than our own, I make a point of buying the new home / away strip every season as a small contribution to the club. Without physically handing over a load of cash to the club as a donation I am not sure what else we can do.

The only thing i can think of, is doing a supporters coach in your area which would pick up the majority in surrounding areas, as i am from torquay i don't know how many of you are in your area. But if there is enough even for a minibus. Any profit made minus the hiring cost, you could forward onto the club, just like steve breed does with the travel club.

Join the membership scheme.

I go to 6 home games a year so my £170 (£110 fee + 6 x £10) costs me nigh on £30 a game. For the greater good and all that.

Club doesn't push this enough with exiles, of which there are many.

There is always Sponsor a player, or sponsor a goal. That's a good one as all the cash goes to the club unlike GullsPlayer

Is the membership still available Bix, i thought it was defunct or that indeed some fans who had joined thought it was as they got so little out of it. What do you get for being a member, how much is it and how do i find out about it does anyone know? I would be interested in joining.
