Predict the match we win promotion..

Inspired by a similar thread on PASOTI, and tempting fate probably, but have a go at predicting which game will win us promotion. For automatic promotion, it could be one of our last few games. Or it could be the play-off final.
A moral victory and kudos for whoever guesses correctly. My guess is it will be the game away to Wimbledon. Don't ask me why. I've no idea..

Oh all right then, I'll have a go at this one . . .
We'll snatch 8th position and League Two security, from the jaws of promotion success at Hereford.
I should not have written that.

It all points to Edgar Street on the last day. The Gulls v The Bulls, baking hot day and hordes of the yellow army descend onto the sleepy Herefordshire border town intent on one thing and one thing only.......fitting through the narrowest turnstiles on the planet without any embarrassment. Mr Bean would struggle. Whilst most Gulls will be necking cider in timbered inns, i shall be wandering around Hereford Cathedral like some lonely Tony Robinson admiring a truly remarkable piece of history - the MAPPA MUNDI. Olde Worlde map of the world. I,d prefer to stand in the street and look at women but i'd get arrested. This way is best, i'm in an ecclesiastical building and i can do something for the greater good - pray for a Torquay win to seal our path to L2. When i've finished i'll just grab a corned beef pasty from Greggs and read the paper. Matchdays are so exciting!!!

If it all comes down to goal difference, then it could well be that last game.
I've never been to Hereford. Any good secondhand book shops there..?

At last! A fellow intelligent Gulls fan!

( only kidding all you out there who don't appreciate literary culture).
Not sure about the bookshops GS but i would imagine there are a few hidden away somewhere in a town such as Hereford. I know in nearby Ross and Hay they have a large collection of them AND the literary / book festival so i would have thought Hereford would have some. Hereford the place is really quite pleasant and has tudor buildings contrasting with modern shops, small niche shops and the obvious draw, the Cathedral. The ground is a bit of a hole, not in the sense that it is situated in a grim council estate or anything like that, in fact it is only a short walk to the town centre and there is a massive car park next to the ground which makes parking a doddle. The ground itself is dated, old and the view and facilities are poor. In addition, i went a few years ago when we lost 1-0 and the programme was the worst i've ever bought at a league ground. I'm sure you'll enjoy a trip to Hereford GS. It certainly is no Accrington or Barnet thats for sure.

Please tell me they're not asking which game will confirm promotion for them... or do they mean which match in the 2013-14 season will secure promotion from the Blue Square Premier?
As far as we're concerned, I'd go with the Hereford game as well.. also agree that Hereford is a lovely town, I stewarded the Big Chill festival last year and nipped off for a wander round before the festival started. A few decent bookshops too if memory serves!

aah the big chill! went to every one from 1996 until about five years ago when I felt it had got just too big, I don't feel comfortable in big crowds, another reason that I love Torquay united!
re the topic matter, I'll just be pleased if we scrape up at Hereford, but hope it doesn't go down to that as I'll probably have to drive and without alcohol my nerves will be shredded!

We must be close to securing a play off berth. I'd say, with us winning on Friday and getting at least a point at Oxford on Monday and other results going our way we could be safe with at least a play off spot by Monday night. Or am I talking out of my rear end. I'm sure some Statto will put me right

Hereford Away. It's gonna go to the wire methinks, hope it doesn't. Hope we're up by then but I can see Hereford away being just like what happened to Ling last time. His Orient side went to Oxford needing a win, the home side needed a win to stay up just like Hereford this time. Lets hope for the same result as that day!

Good point! Hereford match could see both clubs requiring a win for different reasons, like the season Oxford went down. I remember it well. Tears and misery for my Oxford supporting mates as I remember, but we have been there ourselves haven't we?

Two wins over Easter will secure us a play-off place. Even one win will do it, if Crewe lose one of their Easter games (hoping they beat Crawley, though)..

One quick look at the table, tell's us, that Crewe with 6 games to play can reach 80 pts, gillingham with 6 games to play can reach 79 pts and Aldershot are the only other team who can still catch us, with 7 games to play can reach 78 pts.
We are on 75 pts so 2 wins over easter would mean a play-off place scured, as for automatic promotion, if Martin Ling is right and 84 points will , I think that could be achieved by the end of Crewe home, however more likely to go down to Hereford away.
