92 in 92
Hi all,
I'm a Plymouth Argyle fan exiled in South Yorkshire. In August, a group of my friends and members of Birmingham Citadel Band of the Salvation Army - Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough, Deputy Bandmaster Mark Sharman, Nicola Redhead, Tim Farmer and Andrew Dickinson - are raising money for Cancer Research by travelling to all 92 Football League and Premier League clubs in 92 hours!!!! This is the idea of Dep B/M Mark. You can read more about the idea and the route they are taking on facebook - http://www.facebook.com/#!/BhamCitadelBand92In92" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, plus you can follow them on twitter - @bcb92in92. They intend to take their instruments with them and play the clubs anthem when they arrive at the ground - dependent upon a suitable time of arrival! - and would love to be greeted by a group of supporters at each ground, for moral support plus a drink and a bite to eat too! If you could leave a message here or on facebook as to which piece of music is considered to be your anthem, that'd be lovely.
They are hoping to be arriving at Plainmoor on 25th August, at around 10:10pm, having started the trip at Villa Park 12 hours earlier. If any of you are free around that time, then please pop down and give them a proper Torquay welcome. And any exiles are more than welcome to see them at their nearest ground. If you are able to support financially, their just giving page is http://www.justgiving.com/bhamcitadelband92in92" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, or you can text BHAM92 and your donation in £ to 70070.
Thanks for any support you are able to give them.
Chris
Mods, any chance of making this a sticky? Thanks

Moved topic but stickied!
Good luck
Good luck
Mods - can I ask that a worthy topic like this stays on the main board for a little while - everybody reads that but I'm not sure many read this.

We don't make any exceptions, Steve. Cancer Research is a topic very close to my heart and I do a lot of fundraising for it myself but we don't sticky any fundraising topics on the main board. It is in the wrong one though at the moment so I'll transfer it to the Popside.

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I've been tasked with putting the info on the boards for the lower half of league 2 - Gillingham to York. Not sure who is doing the others. They should be reaching the B2Net on Monday 27th, at about 11:40am. The schedule for each of the 4 days can be found HERE.
Can anyone tell me what your "anthem" is?
Thanks for the stickiness, mods!

In terms of 'the 92' , i presume that this changes each year as teams are promoted / relegated so that if i did the 92 this year then say next year if Mansfield come up from the conference and i had not been there then presumably i would have to visit for my 92 to be uptodate otherwise then when this occurrence happens i will still be short?
OR once you have been to 92 in a league season then does that mean you have done it regardless of any changes in concurrent seasons and you will always have that honour?
I'm a bit confused
