Everyone old enough to remember the Cadburys Smash adverts will obviously believe in them, but I can't speak for today's youngsters.

The question is a bit weirdly phrased. As UFO means 'unidentified flying object' but I don't think anything genuine has contacted earth.

But if you're asking whether there is any other life in the universe then I say yes. It can't just be our planet that has the right conditions to support some sort of life.

I've already done this thread a month or so ago when i saw a metal ball over Rotherham! Copycats! I mean, if aliens ARE out there and they decide to visit the skies over Rotherham through choice then they may have lovely shiny state of the art spaceships but they sure as hell don't have any intelligence!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Based on the scientific advancements we have made in the last 200 years, is it really impossible for any civilisation with 40,000 years of existence longer than ours to be incapable of reaching us in space? We've managed to send a rover to Mars, something completely impossible just 20 years ago. We've had 2 people jump from outer space reaching speeds of over 700 mph and one reaching 834 mph. We've sent men to the moon using technology developed some 53 years ago. Just imagine if the Dinosaurs and the following Ice Age had happened just 1,000 years ago.

Do I believe there are other civilisations out there? We will never know in our lifetimes. Do I believe that if there are other civilisations out there, can they reach us. Of course they can. They might have already done so.

I have seen UFOs on at least four occasions, for example: a saucer-like disc on a spring morning which was also seen by my niece, two metallic spheres which followed a jet aircraft across a sunny summer sky before returning in the direction from which they came, and, at night, a glowing orange sphere which rose from the first floor of a nearby house up into the starlit sky. But who possesses such amazing technology? The American military? Aliens from distant stars? Beings from another dimension? Humans from the future? I would not rule anything out. Who, only a couple of hundred years ago, would have believed possible the daily technology we take for granted today? And only fifty years ago, the Cargo Cult of Pacific island natives believed that cargo planes were the Gods bringing gifts..

I've seen metallic spheres on two separate occasions, watched them for about 5 minutes disappear and reappear at the other end of the skyline in literally seconds. The did this continually. Bloody weird but i know what i saw and they weren't from this earth.

I saw UFO's when I was walking home one night. They were over Tavistock town centre. A diamond shape of light that moved and changed direction unexplanable fast. There was 3 of them. This is 100% true but no one believes me as I happend to be sh1tfaced at the time!

Many UFO 'sightings' are actually satellites in space. At certain angles they can reflect light and appear as though they are moving towards a person, and then look as though they are moving away as the angle of light changes and the satellite disappears from view.
