A very well written piece that shows how tragic events can affect these close-knit communities, even if the event hasn't actually had a dramatic effect on your day-to-day life (if you get my drift?). To clarify, I mean that in these communities everyone is affected emotionally, even if you had no connections to the incident.
I wish you and your American counterparts all the best as you try to move on from this tragic, tragic event.

Chris I thought of you on Friday. I have a 5 year old daughter and I can't begin to imagine what they all went through and how you are all coping. Her school frequently have lockdown drills. As you said politics will no doubt play a big part as America is so set in it's ways.

Really well written, as all pieces that close to the heart of the author tend to be. Had no idea you lived right there, hope all is beginning now upon the long road to what will pass as recovery.
