Andy's Ding Dong Thread

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

Whatever post i have made on whatever thread across the boards that you wish to have a dig at me for then this is the place to do it. Rather than us having a full on and frank exchange of views and clogging up other threads with 'argument tennis' we can simply shift them over here to discuss the issues amicably and like civil human beings in an attempt to resolve the situation or indeed alternatively leave the dispute festering in a bowl of pongy cack. ( or Mushroom soup - both the same scenario ). :Z

Any threats to dislodge any of my vertebrae by purely mechanical means or promises to specially craft a new and innovative piece of damian hirst-esque artwork using my face will be given short shrift and will not be tolerated.

It is quite simply known as the Ding Dong thread and i'm sure most will find me very accommodating ( homosexual men aside that is :rules: )

I await the first contestant if you will...........
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Ok - I'll start.

What is it with you and Billy Bodin?

Did he try and get you pissed one night and put something into one of your orifices? Or was it the other way round, and he spurned your advances?

I ask only because you seem obsessed with moaning about the poor bloke. If its not Bodin it's Ling - what do these guys need to do to get you to write something positive about them?

My suggestion - next time you are feeling frustrated with either Bodin or Ling, go up to your wife/girlfriend/partner/acquaintance/lover/significant other, thrown them onto the bed and roger them senseless for as long as it takes (I'm guessing seconds), light up a Marlboro and then (and only then) do I suggest posting on the site ;-)

First of all Scott - i don't smoke. :~D

Secondly i am not frustrated although when you've got a kid it is often seconds like you say, then years before you get more seconds!

Thirdly, Martin Ling

I have said many times before that Ling is doing a great job as Torquay manager and i still believe that. I am not unhappy with the job he is doing, i am just unhappy with the way he gets us to play football and i feel he can approach games differently and get us to play differently. Overall nobody can argue that he isn't doing a good job, it is steady rather than spectacular but it is keeping Torquay competetive. It is only my opinion but i feel that even with our injuries and suspensions ( which i sympathise with Ling for, i'm not a total cock ) that we have more to offer and perhaps another manager could eke out a bit more from them by adopting different tactics. By the same token i know that another manager could come in and set us back by throwing caution to the wind every week but i just feel that Ling hasn't got the balance right between when to stick and when to twist. It really is that simple. He has signed some really useful players too and always conducted himself in a professional manner so i have no problem with the man himself. I just want a bit more than i'm getting and i don't think i'm being unreasonable to want that.

Fourthly, Billy Bodin

I've seen Billy on top form and he undoubtedly has potential but signing him has turned out to be a big mistake. Ok so he is only 20 but he has played for us, Crewe, Swindon and others in the previous two or three seasons so he should know what league 2 is all about now and what is expected of him and it irks me when people make excuses for consistently poor performances and poor goals return because he is young. Raheem Stirling is young and he is playing for Liverpool, if he struggled like Billy has for us then you could understand it. Billy is struggling for form IN LEAGUE 2! My sympathy goes out the window on this i'm afraid. He is a grown man, he has a few years league football under his belt and now is the time to get showing something on a consistent basis, not a flick here and a turn there and bemoaning shots that hit the woodwork. Not good enough for me. He needs to get involved in the games, get some confidence back and show us some of what we know he has. How long are we going to give him for f*cks sake?! I think it's a joke. He needs to begin playing and offering us more or he can leave. Again, i feel it is a reasoned and valid argument as to why i don't want Bodin in the team.

Anymore Scott? 8/ :scarf:

So you think Ling is doing a great job, yet you disagree with the way he gets us to play football??

Forgive me, but isn't that exactly what his main job is? To get us playing football and to win matches?

Re Bodin - could it be that we are simply not playing to his strengths?

Lastly - if you don't smoke after sex you are doing it wrong ;-)

Well Ling wanted him so i would have presumed he knew what Billy's strengths were already and so playing to them wouldn't pose a problem like it has done.

Bodin is the only person responsible for his lack of form. He has played as an attacking midfielder all season and lacked ideas, ingenuity and guile. So i don't see how other players around him can make him better if he can't better himself?

Billy is a 20 year old and as such it should be obvious to anyone with a brain that he will be inconsistent. I'm surprised anyone expects anything else.
