I wouldn't worry about what the Argyle fans think (that may be an oxymoron).
I read PASOTI to keep me sane as it makes me realise I am!

I dont think the number of Fans was bad at all, but I was mystified by the singing group. I guess this is the group who are trying to improve the noise at Plainmoor? Well I know this wasnt Plainmoor, but the noise was good. You had the normal set up of the singing group, and then in front of them a large group of people who arent part of that group, but want to join in. That creates a lot of noise, which spreads and eventually everyone joins in as they get caught up in it. Then, for no reason I could understand, they moved to the edge, where you have a group of people who have purposefully chosen to not sit with the singrrs, probably because they dont want to join in. This killed the atmosphere, before kick off. It onlt really got going a few times.
Like Ferrari said in another thread, if they are there to enjoy themselves, great, but if they genuinely want to improve the atmosphere, they need to think more about what they are doing. Singing "Sit down you Paedophile" at Pilgrim Pete when you are sat right next to the Family section wilk not improve any atmosphere.

roadrunner i think you will find that plymouth sold out all their tickets against exeter two days before the match.
and most were to season ticket holders only. i think i saw it on the official club site.

roadrunner - come to think about it, it was on their officical club web site and also on pasoti about the tickets being all sold.
And i agree about the away support versus the home gates,it must be one of the best in the division. must do some work now cheers happy new year

Considering our last home game there were about 2100 home fans its excellent to take over 1500 to an away game. We actually had the highest away contingent on boxing day, you would have thought that Port Vale would have beaten it seeing they were only at Rotherham and new ground to them too but they had 1300. They get twice as many home fans as we do too.

There's a surprise, a Plymouth fan more inclined to talk about attendances than the number of points they've managed to accrue. I had this same thing on Twitter, some green **** whinging on about "when was the last time Torquay were in the Championship" and other rubbish. Oddly, I never got an answer as to how many points Plymouth had this year. One day, clubs like Plymouth will wake up to the realities that it's no good telling everyone that you're a massive club stuck in the wrong division, because no one cares. The simple answer is that, if you really were all that powerful and mighty, you wouldn't be making such a bloody hash of getting promoted to where you "belong". It's a bit like a girl in her mid-thirties, trying to find a bloke. It's no good telling anyone who will listen that she used to be pretty and used to be able to go out partying all night and used to be able to go at it like a dog eating hot chips (name the programme), because that doesn't matter one iota, what matters is the here and now and here and now, Plymouth are one of the very worst sides in the Football League and for that, they have only themselves to blame. Spouting off about how many gullible idiots they manage to relieve of £20 every week really doesn't matter. If I send my 5 year old (my fictional 5 year old) in for brain surgery, I don't want the Dr to start telling me about how he is, in fact, one of the worst Doctors in the country now, but it's ok because this time a few years ago he was a really good surgeon and how he still has a big house in the country and a Porsche on the driveway. That's **** ing irrelevant, Plymouth, irrelevant I tell you.
Matt.

well said matt, they are spouting off how big they are and what made me really laugh was some knob saying that when we play them its our cup final, well i say your just another team who we would like to beat and it makes it sweeter when we beat our devon rivals weather its green or red, one thing we dont think is that you are some premier team and its our biggest game of the season, we see a big game as being against the team at the top who are gillingham and we beat them .
im afraid my little pilgrim friends we dont see you as a cup final as you linger near the foot of the table so therefore its just another game, when your back at the top then i will give you some credit, we know your a bigger club but that dont give you the right to think your better, luton get crowds like yours in the bsp but that dont make them bigger or better than us.

Dont bother reading Pasoti anymore, use to, its full of complete tossers. Plymouth fans cant cope with were they are now and a spell in the conference is the only cure for them now, there was some noob shouting at us you never been the championship as we walked away from the ground and quite a few others spouting of about us and how small we are.
Matt simple answer to the next you get that over twitter ask them how many times they been to Wembley, or whether they have paid there bills in full, gets the arrogant twunts everytime.
As for our away support in was down on last years game by 400 or so, however the home support was down aswell sure there was 12,000 plus last season so the gargs need to take a long hard look at themselves before slagging others of.

Because of the arrogance of our little green neighbours and idiots like the loudest voice on radio Devon ......Gordon Sparkes. I so hope they they go down to the conference for a few years. The trouble is I wonder if even that would bring them into the real world. :~D :~D :~D

Ever since i have supported Torquay our away support has been immense. I remember going to evening games in grim northern sh*tholes with mates and we were discussing how many Gulls were actually there and being very surprised. We have a solid northern contingent. This season has been extremely disappointing in terms of away attendances, especially the games i have been to. I don't know what the reason is but it could be a combination of economics biting harder than usual, the fact that fans had been to the ground before and didn't want to go again ( Vale away was appalling, about 100 and odd and 10 singers, well down on the previous 2 seasons we had been there and it was on a saturday ). Bradford was a poor turnout also but was close to Christmas. Fleetwood wasn't great given it was a new ground, the first game of the season and Rotherham was poor given it was a new ground. York was poor too. It could be because the football on offer is poor or other factors, i just don't know but it isn't numerically higher than previous seasons i don't think. Even at Wycombe which is probably closer to Devon than Derbyshire, i expected a lot more than were there. I'm not complaining as i know there are loads of factors to take into account, it's just interesting how numbers and singers at away games are falling away and why.
