Not a surprise. Argyle are on a slippery slope to the "Premier League" on this form.

Relegation, no, don't be silly, don't you know they get 10, 000 a week through the doors? It doesn't matter where they finish, the FA would never allow such giants among men to drop out of the league. It's going to come as a real surprise to our green friends when it finally dawns upon them that it's points, not attendances, which dictate where y'finish.
Matt.

Feel sorry for him really. He sounded gutted and I thought handled it with dignity.

Carl Fletcher is only 32. He was a very useful player and, if nothing else, he should get back on the pitch and carry on playing.
He could be a very useful addition to any team at our level thinking of making a late promotion bid.
The only possible fly in the ointment would be a financial one. Perhaps he has higher ambitions...

He has indicated that he may well start playing again. Not sure how his fitness would be, but I would not be surprised to see him turn up with us or Exeter or even Bristol Rovers till the end of the season. With a view to getting back in shape, and showing teams out there what he can do. With either club he is not going to have much in the way of travel expenses or the need for expensive digs.

He'd probably want to keep some sort of coaching going too, right? Might be a good fit for him to come to us for a bit.
Of course, it might not

Former Hull boss Phil Brown is being linked to the vacant Argyle job and if you get a chance to read some of his statements on the BBC SPORT FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2 page then you should come to the conclusion that both Brown and Plymouth are deluded and still have delusions of grandeur.
He says,"I am interested in the job, along with other vacancies"
Which clearly means he is desperate to get back into work, has applied for loads of jobs yet to no avail and wants to make Plymouth think he is much sought after by claiming he has other jobs which he should comfortably get.
He also says,"I am also interested in talking to the Argyle chairman James Brent about where he would want to take the club"
Considering there are only 3 league clubs out of 91 that Plymouth are ahead of right now Phil then i would suggest that Mr Brent would like to take the club a bit higher as a good starting point don't you think?

. If you meet him and he says,"BSP" then obviously they are more deluded than at first thought.
He also says,"Many clubs in the lower divisions don't match the criteria that i lay down for my own aspirations".
Phil, there's a recession on mate and hundreds of out of work managers out there. You aren't the second coming of Jose Mourinho sunshine, you are Phil Brown. Also considering you were in talks with Hartlepool about their vacant managers position i hardly think THEY would fulfil your 'criteria' for having the funds and resources to eventually rise up the leagues either so you're in cloud cuckoo land if you think Plymouth are going to suddenly rise up and be in the Prem within 5 years. They haven't got any money Phil and they need steadying, slowly taking apart and rebuilding which could take years and years. When you took over Hull they were on the up, had a great new stadium, loads of cash and could attract players. Plymouth don't conform to any of these.
Please give Brown the job Mr Argyle chairman as he will be so out of touch of what life is REALLY like at the foothills of the league 2 mountain that he might, might just plunge them into to the non-league abyss. Wouldn't that be a shame?

John Sheridan's the man. Plymouth will probably 'piss the league' now.

Thanks for the link Steve - I love the first line of it:
John Sheridan has been confirmed as the new manager of League Two strugglers Plymouth Argyle.
