Rochdale Vs Torquay

No Match Thread for this? Two teams who seem to be lacking form so should be close. The return of Keith Hill hasnt appeared to change there fortunes so far and we seem to be in a bit of rut ourselfs. Would like to see a couple changes for this one and be a bit more attacking. Would like to see us play:

Poke

Leadbitter Downes Saah Nicholson

Macklin Mansell Craig Bodin

Howe Benyon.

But we will probably stick with the usual with Howe returning up front for Yeoman I'd imagine.

Missing my first game this season but can see this being a dour 0-0 draw.

Step in match thread:

The Dale lost 3-1 V Northampton last time out with Kennedy on their scoresheet. (Previous 2 games before that have been draws)

They are missing top scorer Grant through suspension but have signed Ritchie Jones(Midfield) Michael Rose this week.

The team was:
Rochdale
01 Lillis
02 Rafferty (Cavanagh - 62' )
03 Bennett
05 Cansdell-Sherriff
12 P Edwards
07 Kennedy
08 Tutte (Grimes - 46' )
14 McIntyre Booked
23 Haworth
09 Donnelly
27 Gornell (Logan - 83' )
Substitutes: 13 Collis 04 Cavanagh 19 Pearson 06 Barry-Murphy 11 Grimes 15 Adebola 26 Logan

Match Offcials: ANDY DAVIES (Assistants: Alf Greenwood and Neil Sharp)
Fourth Official Simeon Lucas

RochdaleThis WILL be a win! Benyon and Howe 2-1 WIN! (41-1 bet placed!) COYY!!!! :)

Our match thread writer had a hissy fit, hence no thread!

With a Howe and Benyon pairing, we'll surely score at least 15, so I'm confident of a 15-16 loss.

Was hoping that andy would stick around and continue atleast to do his match day threads, however probably best has a rest from the forum for a while, Andy if you reading this will be in touch about the Wycombe match.

Alex, yes like your line up,however as you say think nothing will change other than Howe in for Yoeman, simply a must win regardless of being away from home, Rochdale are one of the few sides in as poor current form as ourselves.

Agree with the line up, would prefer to rest Manse and bring in Easton to sit back and defend giving Craig freedom to explore the central midfield.

Whilst I do agree, I think Easton and Craig worked really well and was arguably the best midfield partnership weve had this season. I cant see Mansell being dropped any time soon even to just give him a rest.

I admire your optimism that we actually will line up like that! It'll be the 4-4-1-1 we know and "love".

In all honesty that line up (or a variant of it) were unlucky to lose the last game I went to at Burton. Rochdale looked a defensive shambles earlier in the season, so if we can get a good performance going we might nick something. Will take a draw to stop the rot

Yeoman not in the squad? He must be gutted. Are his days as a professional numbered?

Gutted I couldn't make it! Haven't renewed GullsPlayer either! I can't justify paying for something that is that poor in quality.

Anyway, we never see to get anything at Spotland when I've been so seeing as I'm not there I'll go for an optimistic 2-1 win.
