If you're at all superstitious and are looking for a local connection (at least in the horses' names), try favourite SEABASS, or long shot ACROSS THE BAY.

Hopefully all horses (and jockeys) will survive the run this year..!!

It is one of the few races i won't bet on as it's needless carnage but IF i were to pick a horse i'd go for SEABASS who has a female jockey on board who is a lot more capable that a lot of the blokes so don't worry about that if you've backed it. I'd also go each way on SOLL as it is named after a ski resort in Austria!

Oh and on the subject of female jockeys, i was in the bookies the other day and some old blokes had backed a horse with a lady jockey on it and they were shouting at the screen words of encouragement i think? :-/

They were shouting,"GO ON YA F*CKING SPLIT-ARSE!!"

That was the first time i'd heard a woman being referred to by features of her anatomy in a bookies!

Split arse. Mental!

If I ever in a degenerate state stooped to follow a horse I would probably back the 2.30 at Sandown to see it come home at 6.15in reverse at Prestbury park when all had gone home.
