I'm planning to do a fundraising event next year with a mate ( yes i have got one ) and doing the 92 is a possibility however i just can't fathom out in which order it should be done and IF it can be done in such a short time scale. Has anyone done this and how the hell did you manage it?!!
It must be a logistical nightmare and added to that the fact that my mate and i ( who are both Londonophobes ) will have to brave the big smoke to visit Millwall, Charlton and the like. .
I am also trying to think of alternative footballing based challenges such as maybe the Scottish equivalent or something else. Have any of you got any ideas apart from f*ck off Andy i don't give a toss?

Get yourself a copy of 92 pies by Tom Dickinson, he did the 92 in one season AND risked his life by sampling a pie at each ground, a really good read.
It turned into a logistical nightmare for him, based in Hertfordshire he started just by choosing matches 1 by 1. By the end he had to choose an area and try to tick 3 off per weekend. So it is possible but will take a lot of financing and planning.

92 grounds in a week? I would say there is more chance of you signing your house and life savings over to Billy Bodin and then follow him around as a servant on a 24/7 basis polishing his shoes whenever they get scuffed or muddied.
I think you should drive to Plainmoor in your bare feet.
Seriously though, ground-hopping is a pretty big activity nowadays, there are probably plenty of forums (plural of forum??) dedicated to such matters, and some nutjob with a RainMan brain has probably managed to fit it into a week, just like that gizzoid who visited every station on the London underground in 24 hours. I would imagine you would find advice readily available and reach some sort of happy compromise. London really isn't that bad as long as you deploy the automatic locking system on your car and arm your comrade with a shorn off shotgun just in case the need arises. (please note I am not advising nor advocating partaking of any drive-by related crime sprees, this was merely consumer advice to ease the worries of an anxious traveller)
How about watching a match at the most southern football stadium in britain, and then one at the most northern ground in Britain?
Or watching a match in every country where they drive on the left hand of the road, you could do it in a lovely old bullnose morris, you could call it 'World football grounds of the world on the left with Austrian Andy, in bullnose morris'
Seriously though, whatever you decide, good luck and left me know if there is anything I can do logistically or physically.

Cheers Ben, i'll see what i can come up with. I like the idea of visiting all the Scottish League grounds in a week. That would be do-able i reckon as there aren't half the number of clubs in that league as there are in the English League. I'll keep working on it and when i've decided i'll let you all know!
Oh, and i woun't need a buffing cloth where Billy's boots are concerned as i doubt they ever get dirty!

How about giving yourself a doable timescale and then trying to watch one match from every level of the FA pyramid from Premier League right down to SDL level....will allow you to see some new grounds and a varied level of football.....and wont cost as much as league games etc!!
Ok i think i know where i've gone wrong here and where the confusion is. Don't wet yourself laughing at how dense i am but it all makes sense now, your answers. When i said i wanted to 'do the 92' i actually meant basically to visit every ground, get a photo of us outside and finish up with a game at the 92nd and final ground to visit. I didn't actually mean i would be watching a live game in each ground which is what 'doing the 92' is but i forgot. :Oops:

Actually. I have a long long held ambition to do the ultimate football fans sponsored walk to visit all 92 league grounds and arrive at the begining of a match at each.
I have done a very small amound of research and I think even if you drove to all grounds just for a quick piccie you wouldn;t make it.
Although our small country is only 990 miles long accounting for Scotland to tip of Cornwall, The actual distance you would cover i way more than that and if allowing for travel hold ups and getting caught around some of them by Mr Plod cos it's 3am and you cannot for the life of you think why you would want to visit the top mugging highspot of Millwal etc you would need a lot longer than that. I will see if I can find the details of time and distance I put down somewhere.
