Walter Tull petition

Walter Tull was Britain's first black professional footballer, and first black military officer. He received acclaim in his lifetime for his achievements as a footballer, his bravery on the battlefield, his leadership qualities and his decency and humanity in the face of ignorant racism.

He was killed in action during the first world war, but he was never awarded the Military Cross for which he was recommended by his commanding officers. There is a petition to award him this medal posthumously. I urge you to sign it.

duly signed. He fought for our country. he didnt shrink back because of his colour. yet I have no doubt he received much discrimination. We should remember his sacrifice.
