Just reading some of the stuff 'tweeted' on our 'twitter feed' thingy to the right of this page today and over the course of a week. Makes me so glad i don't use the bloody thing. Some real mindnumbingly pointless cess on there and some real odd sh*t too. What is the point of it all? :-/

Madness

Also on Facebook which is also pretty numbing. Who posts those photos of something evocative and then says - like = care, ignore = don't care? These people are allowed to mingle freely with the rest of society for Christ's sakes!

I've ignored it because it doesn't matter either way you morons. So what if i put a picture of a puppy after being beaten to a pulp by a chav with a message about doing something about it and if you want to then 'share' or 'like'. Wow that REALLY helps doesn't it? How about DOING something about it instead of posting childish banal trivia on social media and pretending somehow you are making a difference?

Evolution was wasted. Jesus!

I agree. I wouldn't touch Facebook and Twitter with a bargepole. Love YouTube, though.

That feed is all tweets where people have put #TUFC on it. Usually on twitter you only see people that you follow, don't follow morons and you wont read stupid tweets. Twitter is brilliant, much better than facebook... like this photo or you will die nonsense.

I particularly like to complain to companies that are on Twitter, they don't like brand damage on Twitter as it's so powerful so they deal with your complaint quicker.

You agree with Andy's post, within which he calls people "morons", yet you object to being referred to as one on another thread....

Make up your mind.

I don't follow anyone Louis, i accept my attitude is an outdated redneck Yorkshire one but i don't follow anyone never mind morons. I think technology is getting way out of hand and is just turning us all into robots. It's like this 'contactless payment' thing. So you pull up at McDonalds and swipe your card to pay rather than put your card in and enter your pin. It saves you 10 seconds of your life. F*cking marvellous. Next great idea to make people lazier please, and not the TV where you ASK IT for recommended programmes to watch. Look through the p*ssing tv guide and let your brain tell you what you want to watch! Christ! Unbelievable. And that phone thing where you ASK IT where Steve is or whereabouts is Brian at this moment in time. I've got an idea - WHY DON'T YOU F*CKING RING THE BLOKE AND ASK HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY MENTAL!!!

Oops!! I missed that! I read his post too quickly! What I meant was, I agree that I don't like Twitter and Facebook either.

Of course, I would never call anybody a moron, even if I think they are. And I don't approve of anyone calling me a moron, even if I am one..!! =D

Anyway, :na: to you too. And to Andy: :na: :na:

=D =D

I'm with Louis on this, Twitter is ace. I follow some hugely original and irreverent people (MooseAllain and FiatPanda among them). The only ones who annoy me are the ones who seem to speak their own, utterly incomprehensible language. I get news, rumour, sports updates, wonderful images (Earthpix and Earthpics). Some social commentary from all points of view, PDFs of Judicial summaries and all sorts of other stuff. I also follow a guy who tweets WWII 'as live'. We're up to mid 1946 at the moment and the war is settling into its stride all over Europe.
Twitter is often ahead of the major news outlets. I knew of the Boston bombings before the news had broken on any of the networks. Follow the right people and Twitter is a brilliant resource.

Matt.

Ahahaha, yes, of course, late night fat fingers. We are, obviously, in mid 1942. Quite how I managed to hit the 6 key on my phone, I'll never know.
