He wanted out of Newcastle and so refused to play for the club until he got what he wanted. Now he's forced to stay as the move never materialised so now all of a sudden he is sorry. He expects Newcastle fans to be kind to him because of these empty sentiments.

If this were a Torquay player then he'd be getting dogs abuse from me (one of the few occasions I feel it appropriate) until he was dropped or he left. If he wanted to leave the club then i'm sure most Newcastle fans would have had no problems with this so long as he gave 100% when he played. He DIDN'T PLAY AND REFUSED!! What a total cocksucker!

Best of it is he refused because he said his 'head wasn't right'!! WHAT?!! Oh so his mental illness has suddenly got better within the space of a month. He's only kicking a bag of wind about for 90 minutes for £100k a week, i'd do that even if I didn't HAVE a head!

Sometimes I get seriously f*cked off by morons like Cabaye and I hope he suffers a permanent but painless injury that rules him out of playing football for good because people like him do not deserve the chance they have been given (or even earned for themselves). I feel a bit ashamed to wish misfortune on somebody but that's how I feel. If you don't want to play football Yohann then go and work at f*cking B&Q instead!!

I thought somewhat differently about this, but only because of my willingness to accept his version of events. The Arsenal bid must surely have tampered with his mind something rotten. With the greatest respect to Newcastle, to sign from them for Arsenal would be a different world altogether. I know professionalism should override what is going on off the pitch, but the boy is only human and is subject to the inherent frailties thereof. I'm not sure I'd really want to go to work at one place if I knew I was being head hunted by a much bigger and better firm for more money. Quite aside from anything else, it only takes one momentary lapse in concentration on a football pitch to cause serious injury, either to yourself or someone else. I know this all sounds like wishy washy, liberal apologism* for the actions of a feckless, tactless, unprofessional, greedy man, but it might just be that I'm right and the chap did ask to be left out for all the right reasons.

If Cabaye did ask to be left out for all the right reasons e.g a broken leg, or needing to travel home to attend his grannies funeral, then he should have been advised to make those reasons public,and so avoid the bad publicity his name has since attracted. People may well have jumped to conclusions, but a lot are surmising that his reasons amounted to little more than wishing to replace his enormous salary with a salary that's even more enormous.
