What a load of bollocks this is. Why is the press and whoever making such a big deal out of it? So we qualify for the world cup and already we have started the self destruct that we do every time.

His comment has really annoyed me.
Not because it was racist but beacuse it took him half of the half-time team talk to tell Smalling to pass the ball to Townsend!

Good joke. Whoever complained about it is an idiot. However, it was inappropriate in this situation as it could easily have resulted in the England players passing the ball to Townsend just once every 15 minutes...

It is the rent-a-quote Peter Herbert (the Society of Black Lawyers) and Herman Ouseley who have been banging the Political Correctness drum here. Herbert has even asked for a "transcript" of what was said by Roy Hodgson. FFS, a transcript! Who records dressing room discussions for a "transcript"? I find it quite scary that Herbert can even think that transcripts of private conversations, if they exist at all, should be made available to third parties. It is Big Brother Totalitarianism here, the thought police recording everything you say.
All this is a very sorry story of how mad Britain has become. The second that the England team show any signs of playing well, Peter Herbert gets onto his evangelical PC hobby horse and tries to pull the team down. I don't believe for a second that Roy is a racist, it is all quite ridiculous. The people who search for "isms" in every walk of life raise my blood pressure, I just wish Peter Herbert would move to Russia where there is plenty of discrimination for him to get his teeth into. And Russia is a place where private conversations are recorded all the time, Peter Herbert would surely approve of that.

Such a non-story. Completely ridiculous.

The player who told the "Society of Black Lawyers" (whoever they are) about what Roy Hodgson said should never be picked for England again. This player (and it was clearly NOT Andros Townsend, about whom Roy made his jokey remark) has behaved like a traitor to his team. Clearly this player cannot be trusted to keep dressing room discussions confidential.

Thanks for the link Scott, agree with everything said, Roy clearly isn't a racist, anyone who thinks he is, as the mind of a mad man.
Are Lord I've never been into a zoo and called a monkey, a monkey, and his doughnut mate, from the society of PC crazed nut case lawyers, that terminally thick, they would actually think that if Roy was a racist, he would really tell a racist joke to a dressing room half full a black players.
The PC mad world we live has just gone ever so slightly more mad, this sort accusation just fuels racism, and makes the problem worse, anyone with half a brain can see, Roy told a joke, that was meant as a joke.
Investigate what ?
