No chance, when he does move, it will be to a Championship club.

And to think we turned down Ryan Harley to sign Carl Motteram instead.................

I've always wondered, does anyone know if that was really the case? I was at the Dawlish friendly when Harley trialled and he looked superb even then. Did we not offer him anything, or in fact did we and he turned it down?

Anyone in the know?

I was at that friendly too, and to be fair Motteram looked excellent. But that's always the danger of judging players against that level of opposition. Remember Richard Bouton? We signed him after a hat-trick against Newton Abbot and released him two weeks later...

Free transfer according to the Beeb.

I was told they got 300k for him but maybe not?!

Yeah, he was out of contract in the summer and over 25, so they wouldn't have got anything for him then. If they had sold him now for whatever money they could then they wouldn't have got him back on loan for the rest of the season. So they've effectively lost him on a free at the end of the season, but with the deal done now, so the player isn't unsettled by talk of a move, which is why he's been left out of their last few games.

It has been said that it could have been 440k or 300k transfer bids from possibly Brighton which was turned down(I don't believe this) someone on the Exeter forum suggested it was £1.5 million- totally unbelievable!

Harley has left on a free to Swansea but has been loaned back to Exeter for the season.
