What did he say?

Was anyone watching from the main stand today? Did you hear hat Buckle said to the ref?

The reason I ask is that in  watching, I don't think I have ever seen a ref loose control like he did today, from where I was it looked like Buckle was about to get punched! He was shouting something at Bucks, to the point the Lino was about to run onto the pitch.

I think it was something to do with the smack in the face for Benners and the drop ball near the penalty area.

It was for the drop ball incident- he wasn't happy we gave the ball back and they had a drop ball on 18 yards!

When it was about 5 yards from that.

Bucks not happy with the drop ball incidents and unconfirmed reports suggest Bucks was banished from the dugout for calling the ref a CA - HUNT.

The man in the middle was a complete joke. Hopelessly inept, all he needed was a few darker stripes on his shirt to confirm his birthplace !!

He was also jabbing his elbow out to indicate how he thought Benners got his broken nose

It would appear from Buckle's apology it was down to the drop ball incident, and it seems that Benners does have a broken nose.

To me as a fan Paul Buckle has no need tp apologise to the fans,i 100% back him up,however there is a code of conduct for managers as well as players , and pb knows he has stepped over it,there is also a referee's code of conduct i could not see from the popside, however if the ref has reacted like that to Buckle ,then surely the ref has stepped over his code of conduct aswell.

The ref did seem to more than favour Gillingham on the niggley type fouls, every little brush on a gills player was a free kick, yet when bayo was almost strangling Branno to get past him that was o.k in the ref's mind, however that happens in football there has been plenty of games when the ref has given some bizare decisions in our favour ,when the ref's on your side whatever team fans do not complain.

For me the only real complaint was the drop ball incidents, not more than 5 minutes apart,we pass the ball to there keeper uncontested, then when the boot was on the other foot, not only does the ref make a contested drop ball,he moves 10yrds closer to our goal and gives Gillingham a goal scoring chance.

I do wish the referee would be forced to come out in public and explain that.

That decision counts as one of the worst I have ever seen because he had time to decide what to do.

Often referees have to make instantaneous decisions and, being human, will sometimes get it wrong. But on this occasion he had plenty of time to weigh the situation up and the dropped ball was nowhere near where play was stopped. It gave a definite advantage to Gillingham.

I don't condone PB abusing the referee and he now faces a ban from the touchline but he has apologised and that as far as I am concerned is the end of the matter for him.

Agreed the ref for most of the game was poor, but it doesn't explain how we continue to let leads slip. It has happend loads over the past mounth or two. We just havn't taken our chances up front and letting the defence slip in the last 10 minutes or so.

Not sure whether managers can get banned for this sort of stuff, will we suffer from a touchline ban?

The referee sent him off,if the ref include's that in his match report then there is no doubt the f.a will want Paul Buckle to explain, and he could receive a touchline ban.

Would the team suffer not really,he could do the pre-match and half time dressing room stuff, with mobile phones etc he can make changes from the stands.

Benyon a broken nose?

AS for the ref, I said to yellow4life before the game started that we've had him before and he was poor. He did okay...

..for the first 20 minutes. From then he totally lost it.
