The transfer window

We might have done this on here before, but it's topical, and I want to moan about it.

The transfer window is a **** shit idea for about six million reasons. One of the main ones is that fixtures aren't arranged such that each side plays each other once before and once after it, meaning that one side may play a pre-window opponent twice and some others only once. If that opponent makes significant gains or losses during the window, this seems unfair. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Granted, the bloke in this link is a whinging Frenchman, but we can't all be perfect.

What does everyone else think?

I see your point, but everybody is on a level playing field, in that everybody is able to buy players during this time.

Using Wenger as an example - he has already said he doesn't want/need to strengthen in this window. That is his choice, and is in essence saying he is happy with his squad.

If Man U decide that they aren't happy, and they clearly aren't, then they will strengthen - if Wenger then decides that Utd have strengthened their squad to the point that he thinks they will now beat his team, then he has the oppportunity to do something about it. Should he choose to ignore it, well, it's his call, but he will then need to explain that decision if/when it comes back and bites him on the arse.

Wenger is just finding something else to whinge about in case his team get hammered by Utd, Mata scores 3, and Arsenal finish 4th again. It's the same for everyone. It's the nature of the fixture list that there will always be a bit of imbalance. e.g. a team playing 4 games in 9 days against fellow strugglers will probably be upset bc those are the games they need to do well in.
