Has gone from Newport County to The Posh, reportedly for £500,000 plus a player (Shaun Jeffers).
Half a million pounds, blimey, that's a lot of money, he must be really good.
Well, no, actually. Admittedly, he got 65 goals in 60 games for St Ives Town (at Calor Gas Division One level, some 4 steps below us. They played their last home match against Aylesbury United in front of 132 people). He got snapped up by Newport in 2012 and scored one goal in the Conference (in a side that finished third and won promotion, scoring 85 goals along the way). He's got seven this year, with four coming in the League.
Now, he's only 21, so he was never going to have scored hundreds, but for that kind of money, I want him to have been making a right monkey out of everyone he came across, both in the Conference and in L2. Newport are hardly struggling and he's not made a mark, so far as I can see. He played against us (according to the internet) in a match where they created absolutely nothing and where it seems (speaking to the locals) that they played in a similar fashion to normal (ie, not creating a lot).
How do other clubs do it? How did we get £475,000 for two Premier League quality players (Bobby and Eunan) and Newport (a club who have spent their entire history in the non-league, so are hardly in a position to be turning down any sensible offer) manage to get half a million and a very similar player in return for a bloke who has as many FL goals this season as Aaron Downes?

Perhaps they use someone with a little more negotiating skill than Bill Phillips?
