Remember old Jakey? I thought he was a decent player- clinical on his day. Played a vital part in our 5-0 win against Shrewsbury (his parent club) scoring two goals. He's currently at Whitehawke a.k.a Shitehawke FC and I'd really love to see him back here- but the chances of that are a million to none.

I think that's a bit harsh. He's always very complimentary about our club and who could forget his infamous put down of Exeter by stating that there's only one team in Devon and they play in yellow
Definitely past his best but deserves a bit of respect IMHO !!

He scored three, unless I've remembered it wrong.
Would be alright in the Conference. Pace goes a long way and, while not electric, he's no slouch. Probably earns about £4.50/week at Whitehawk, so wouldn't break the bank. The player himself would probably shit himself for another shot at pro football. Is he still good enough? **** knows, but I don't see any harm in finding out.
Matt.

Anybody who went to the away leg of the Shrewsbury play off semi final would give Jake credit. He was given a horrible time by the Shrewsbury fans, but paid them back by playing out of his skin for the Gulls. I always liked the guy and respected his ability. The wheels obviously fell off for him in the past couple of years, but I will always remember him positively.

I'd suggest he earns more than that at Whitehawk. A marriage of convenience to an extent as he is from down that way, but ask yourself how Whitehawk have rocketed up through the league in the last few years?
It's not because of the untapped supporter market of Whitehawk

I'll concede to knowing less than nothing about Whitehawk, Jeff. I take it they're doing a Truro?
Matt.

Seems that way. Smattering of players with FL experience, 3 promotions in 4 years. All on an average gate of 199 last season (or so it says in the info I can find on t'interweb)

They've got a few interesting players. Lance Cronin in goal, who I believe was the goalkeeper for Ebbsfleet when they beat us in the FA Trophy, Lee Hills who was a left back with good potential when he was at Crystal Palace and Danny Mills who came to us on loan when we got back up to the Football league.
They've also had players like Adam Proudlock, Dominic Green who was fantastic when I watched him play for St Neots Town, Moses Swaibu who played for Lincoln a few years back, Kyle Vassell who has since gone to Peterborough, Jed Wallace who currently plays for Pompey and Scott McGleish who is probably about 400 years old now.
They've certainly had their fair share of good players over the last few years, mostly on loan but good signings none the less.

They (Whitehawk) are also seemingly on the verge of signing Sergio Torres following his release from League One Crawley! Despite interest in him from League clubs it seems. Still only 32 and surely way too good for that level ... so there must be plenty of money there you would think.
