How many times were Torquay on TV last season?

Post by MCOTV »

Hi folks.

I've been researching English football on TV and my records say that Torquay had 2 games live on TV in the season that's just passed?

1) Alfreton (A)
2) Barnet (A)

Am I correct or have I missed any out?

Thanks very much for your help!

Thanks for confirming.

I'll come back and share my findings in full in a few days time. You'll be able to see how Torquay's tally compared to other clubs.

Tbh. We could have been on BT sports in the conference 20+ games, but it's all about the premiership and there ridiculous money they earn. What you need to base your research on is how much each team received in TV rights for being live on TV. Coupled with how many new TVs where bought the day after the Alfreton match

If I bought a new TV after the Alfreton match it would only be to watch Coronation Street!.

Trust me, I'd like to know this information too but one step at a time!

However big or small the financial reward for televised games might have been, a lot of Conference Premier teams got more games on TV than a number of League 1 & 2 sides.

Yes, indeed. Great link. Thanks very much.

My primary focus is on the season just gone, but I did plan on researching further back in time later down the line so this will come in very handy.

Incidentally, 43 is about the number of games some of the top Premier League teams will have had on TV last season alone. It's much easier to ask fans who have have had their club shown only a handful of times whether my figures are correct or not. If I asked the likes of Arsenal fans they wouldn't be able to tell me as they would have lost count of how many times they were on. I will just have to assume I'm correct on that particular front.

The money BT pay is garbage if what I've been told is correct.

However, they have signed a 3 year extension and it will now include a weekly highlights show.
