Gateshead v Torquay Sat 1 Oct 2016 match thread
Can't understand why Gateshead aren't back in the Football League after all these years..

The fact that there is less than two hours to kick off and not a single response to the opening post on this thread sums up the morale and expectations of the supporters. Never mind the battle between TUST supporters and the sceptics, I wonder if anyone will actually give a toss when we dissapear down the plug hole.

Everybody's depressed and lacking motivation. Let's hope KN has got the players fired up. I wouldn't bet on it; the team selection doesn't give me much hope, and I can't see any great improvements until the end of the year. And if that's the case, there'll be a few more goals given away today..
Teams:
Gateshead: Hanford, Bolton, Hogan, Penn, Fyfield, Smith, Smith, McLaughlin, Jones, York, Johnson.
Substitutes: Johnson, Brundle, Oates, Styche, Mafuta.
Torquay: Moore, Rowe-Turner, McGinty, Richards, Chaney, Gerring, Young, Verma, Lathrope, Reid, Blissett.
Substitutes: Gallifuoco, Williams, Robba, Chamberlain, Nicholson.

We'd all obviously 'give a toss'. Things are tough at the moment and I think it's more to do with nobody giving us a prayer after recent defensive performances. Apparently Gateshead are suffering a bit of a goal drought. Long may that continue. At least until five to five.
Gerring takes GG's place.

Sounds like the ref has lost the plot with this game - just given a goal kick when the commos saw as a clear corner !!!

Annoying how the commentators keep getting the name of their keeper' wrong, it's not Daniel, it's Sam Johnson.

Williams misses an open goal, god's sake.
GG hits inside of post from corner - ball roles across the line and Williams heads it wide (somehow)
