I believe they were rebranded as "Alsatian" (that is, coming from the Alsace region) during WW II so that people didn't think "German Shepherd? Eugh, nazis!"

think I'd go with "Frenetic Friday" myself, but yeah, this seems entirely possibleGull in black wrote: ↑30 May 2024, 16:09 If the formal CVA stuff is sorted on Friday, are we in for a ‘Fantastic Friday’ of player signing announcements ?

survey
Personally I have never been a great fan of surveys in much the same way as running anything by committee or asking fifty random supporters who their favourite player is, you will never get a consensus. That's not what surveys are for, though. When used properly, and designed well, a survey is help...

Squad 2024/25
My understanding is that the club can't officially do any recruitment until the CVA is approved (end of next week, maybe?) Let's assume it's just Booth signed on for next season, though. I think we'll offer deals to; Ash Archer One of Moxey/Hall (possibly as part of an assistant coaching deal) ...an...

Away Kit?
As a football shirt I can live with it but with fans having to fork out some serious cash to buy the football shirt it's ought to be important for commercial sales that the shirts have some street cred and fashion statement. The away kit design is at least urban and leveraged to promote a more purp...

as stated before - I'm sure a Fans Forum is on the cards once the Bryn Consortium officially take ownership, and after Wooton (and NW) have been able to put together something resembling a squad. Then you'd have something to talk about. I don't think it's all accurate to say ""people have ...

6th member could also be the trust. If the expectation is that they'll be d oing a fund raise to get the 'buy-in', they presumably can't be named or made official until that's done, and I'd imagine (not sure) that they also can't be attached to the CVA documents yet either

would imagine the ideal time would be after the deal has actually closed and we've signed something resembling a squad.

Bryn Consortium Take-Over
That's the kind of interview that will bring fans flocking to Plainmoor. I'm blown away by the transparency. Agree - a thoroughly encouraging start. Not much more he could say. It looks as though Mr. Westcott will be te 'front-man' (if you will) for the consortium, which itself is positive given th...

Ex-Gull watch
He is better than regional football admittedly - but I see no reference to him moving to another club having been released from the OPR development squad. Well, yah, because QPR's job is to tell their players whether or not they have a contract. It's not their job to find them a new club. I would i...

Not so sure about that, it seems according to the small print the Torquay United AFC Ltd will continue to run the club with the Bryn consortium being the major shareholder, I hope that does not mean that Edawrds and Hayman stay in post. is this not how it always works? you own a piece (or all) of t...

Genuinely don't understand the hate that the Trust seems to engender. For 6 years we had an ownership group who patently did not give a toss about the actual club or the fanbase. Do you want people involved who care about the club? That's the Trust Do you people involved who want the club to have lo...
