Dont forget that he gpt two important assists v Barnet (laid it to Bodin to score) and Morecambe (flicked header to Yeoman to score). Defenders know they have been in a game against him and he creates space and opportunity for others.

Some of those criticising Howe are not necessarily the best judge of a player. Howe is the best footballer in the current squad. Having watched us versus York and Barnet, I would say Howe did his job leading the line.

The irony !!!!!!! Howe to Portsmouth - leaves a "solvent" Club to get more money from a Club thats been in administration god knows how many times, sold about 10 times and now being run by the Fans. Hell and Handcart spring to mind

I really don't understand why people are having a go at Howe. Without his goals we'd have been relegated by the end of February this year so we should be pleased and grateful for what he did in a very poor underachieving team.

I would love him to sign for us again but a footballers career is a short one and if he has the chance to earn more money OR play for a club that could do well, he is bound to give it serious consideration.

If I was him and Portsmouth came knocking, I'd go.

I think they will complement each other well. I couldnt give a monkeys which of them sticks the ball in the net as long as they can get around 30 between them

Players generally don't seem to play so well if they're playing in a team that's not playing well. Conversely, most players will play better individually if the other players are also playing better as a team. It's about team spirit and cohesion and self-belief.

Despite the team's poor run this season, most of the players are actually pretty good for League Two, and Rene is one of our top players. Wouldn't want to lose him.

Not something i normally bother with but decided to search up Rene on twitter just to see what's being said. I noticed that 10 hours ago somebody asked if he was staying at Torquay. His reply was "in talks"

Although he's probably been "in talks" since December, so i won't get my hopes up.

Personally i would be delighted, over the moon if Howe is playing for us next season.

I find it difficult to believe that some fans are slating Howe. He was one of the top scorers in the division, worked incredibly hard for the team and his form only tailed off because he was left on his own. No wonder he was frustrated. I would love for him to stay but I expect him to go

This outcome did cross my mind some time ago and has been a fear ever since, so it's bound to happen. It would sort of make sense for him but I hope it does not happen.

Who were these players sweating blood for the cause? Apart from our CB's, who didn't shirk the challenge. Part of our problem this season was our casual nature, and refusal to roll our collective sleeves up. Things changed once Knill had had the chance to get his own message and methods across, but up to that point we looked a disjointed, disinterested mess. Far from standing out as lazy, Rene was merely joining the masses behind him.
