Seems like Crawley did not offer enough wedge! - their loss!
I never said an offer was made, only there's interest.

Despite what some have said on here it's clear money is a big motivator for Eunan. He makes it clear he would have gone had Crawley had offered more.

Richinns wrote: Dream on guys - we had all this crap last year from you lot. You are not a big club - you are an average League 2 club so there is no way O'Kane will move at the very best sideways.
Are we a big club? No, crowds of 6000 mean we're just an average run of the mill side like most L1 and L2 clubs. Do I think he'll join us? VERY unlikely.

I was simply stating there has been contact and you're keen to cash in. I was told this by the same person that said Buckle would be joining before the second leg of Shrewsbury playoff, not to mention many other signings before they've happened.

If we sign Lund on loan again from Stoke, Mcghee is happy to let Stanley go so maybe Ling will be interested in him even if O'Kane goes to someone else like Swindon.

Richinns wrote: Even if all that was true (which I severely doubt) why would he be tempted by a club which finished significantly below his current employees? He is looking to progress his career not take a step back. Also - until you get your new stadium your current pitch is hardly beneficial to his game.

If you claim you could pay him more than us - then that will not wash as financial reward is not a big factor in his next move – he wants the right choice to progress upwards.
All is said was there is interest and your board are keen to sell, nothing more. I also said it's highly unlikely to happen. I don't think he's upto championship standard yet, but is certainly good enough for a decent L1 team.

For the record the pitch has been ripped up and significant money has been spent on it. It's only last year it deteriorated. People also think it's the rugby which wrecked it last year, but it was actually an fa youth cup game which was cancelled before and had to be played even when the pitch was unfit to do so.

Re: Has O'Kane Gone Yet?

I'd say it's very unlikely to happen. Don't shoot the messanger but from what I've heard there has been contact and your board are not against selling him, infact they seem pretty keen.

We've had a bid of £150k rejected for Constable so the money is there as we received 250k as part of the Lambert deal when Saints got to the prem.

IF somehow he could be tempted, maybe you'll see someone coming in the opposite direction.

You mentioned Bevan and dodgy kicking in the same paragraph and the two weren't linked! Lol!

As you can guess, we're chuffed to bits with this signing.
Lol Poke might not get much distance on his kicks but he's better than Bevan. He's got the strangest technique and ice comes back on the ball from his drop kicks

Poke is definitely one of the best L2 keepers when fit.

Re: Michael Poke returns

Very good signing! As I've mentioned previously I'd much prefer him at the gas than Bevan. Apart from his dodgy kicking he was great for us when he played last season. I get the impression though you won't get a full season out of him due to niggling injuries.

Poke really would be a very good signing for you! Apart from his suspect kicking he was excellent for us last season!

Oh yeah so you did, obviously there is some truth in it then. I must admit I just read the last page on this post.

He seems to think it's cash only. He may just be talking BS though.

A mate of mine who's a Swindon fan seems to think they're back in for him.

Smith is well liked by the Swindon fans! Would be a solid L2 keeper. I'd much rather have Poke in my team than him or Bevan though.

You should definitely be on sky then. I wonder if they'll switch your first game to a Friday night?

What a cracking end to the season! Let's hope we both have something to play for then.

Yes. Obviously he won't get anywhere near that now but surely he'd still get atleast 3-5k a week, depending on the club.

He was on 15k a week last season. Wonder what he'd drop too now.

You're welcome to have Bevan back. Seriously though, Poke would be an excellent replacement for you, I wish we were signing him.
