Sorry but your all perfectly aware, if that happened to us, we'd be furious if it wasn't given.
Ref had no choice, the ball struck an arm that was outstretched to make his body look bigger, and I've watched the replay plenty now, the ball hits his first, not his back as many are suggesting.

Match highlights (plymouth)
That was very clearly inside the area CP.CP Gull wrote:Ultimately it is down to whether a player who clearly, in this case, has his BACK to the cross, is DELIBERATElY guilty of handling the ball? OK, I accept that Craig has his arms outside of his torso, but seriously should that be deemed as a deliberate attempt to deny a goal scoring opportunity, I don't think so!
Not only that, but having watched the highlights, I would also seriously question whether the "alleged" handball was even inside the area too!
The FACTS are that Argyle got LUCKY on this occasion and that ROGER EAST is quite simply a poor referee!

Didn't think so at the time, but now that I've watched it back, I think it looks a certain penalty.
Our goal was very well finished.
Amazing save by McCormick on to the bar.

Thread was never meant to be a Rice bashing, just meant to point out I wish we had a keeper as commanding/confident/quality as McCormick.
Rice is alright.

Torquay United v Plymouth Argyle - 26/11/13
Oh and one more thing, those 12 year olds setting off smoke bombs and trying to get on the pitch after 5 minutes and focusing more on the Plymouth keeper and fans than our own team, just ban them, an embarrassment to the vast majority of decent fans at the club.

Happy to meet with any of you at the Southend home game to prove I'm not a Plymouth fan :}
Can't remember that one, but the one from the free kick was decent, but the main point of my topic, I just wish he had the confidence McCormick has.

forevertufc wrote:Ha, ha, maybe you have uncovered a cheeky little troll there Ian, maybe he wants to talk about the two quality saves Ricey made, not bad for a supposed non-league keeper.
Troll :S
Rice made 1 excellent save from a free kick, not sure which other one your talking about though?

Selling tickets to away fans!
Wouldn't have been a bad shout, or given them the family stand as there was nobody in it anyway.royalgull wrote:should have given them the whole stand of Bristow's Bench and maximised our income from a big game.
Is it just me or did we once give Plymouth the whole pop side? Or was that another club.

Return of Ling - Radio Devon interview
That's pretty much the case, and now we are stuck with Knill.rooster wrote:Im guessing he means that Ling was sacked whilst he was ill and not given opportunity to come back and put things right.......
I met Ling on many occasions, great guy and clearly very caring about the club.
Really wish we still had him to take us forward.

Marquis was effective last night, but not quite as effective as Reuben Reid.

Not saying we need to sign a keeper of McCormick's quality, saying Rice needs to learn lessons from a fine performance.

I dont think the ref was that bad at all, we didn't create enough in front of goal to merit a win, a draw was fair.
As for the penalty, you see them given and you see them not given.

We did well last night against what I think is a very good side. I'm a little more positive.
