Season Ticket pricing.
Although I believe the price hike for young fans in Bristows' Bench is a big mistake, there are many factors at play and a simple comparison with League 1 / League 2 isn't clear cut. The infrastructure at a higher club, of similar capacity, isn't significantly more expensive. Their players will be getting bigger wages, but maybe the sponsorship of both the team and individuals makes up a significant amount of this number. I see an increased ticket price as an investment in the longevity of the club.

End of term report
I can't really add anything to what's already been said, but believe supporters want to see their team winning, primarily. Ask Plymouth supporters how much they've enjoyed Chanpionship football this season. We are clearly not physically capable of competing well in the National League yet. We would be playing and losing against teams with same physicality as BW, yesterday. That would naturally reduce our attendances proportionally and reduce income and the club's status locally. We are in a rebuilding phase, after 2 decades of asset stripping and zero investment. The ownership is arresting that change and that's clear to see. Hopefully, the budget next year will improve for our playing staff. PW saw enough yesterday to know where he needs to strengthen the squad.
As an aside, if Dean Moxey's affiliation with the club is at an end, I hope his efforts will be rewarded in some way. He's had an incredible career and that is worthy of recognition.

Torquay United vs Boreham Wood
I don't think I need or want to add anything to what has been said. I'd rather focus on how much I've enjoyed this season and so proud of our club and the way the co-chairmen, directors, employees, players and us fans have coalesced to create a club we should all be proud to support. I'm positive about the future, please don't focus on one poor performance.

You are right, improvements need to be made in Bristow's. I go with my Dad, who is in his 80's. After being sat down for 2 hours the elderly naturally seize up. The handrail situation is sketchy at best. A major incident would be horrendous.culmstockgull wrote: 02 May 2025, 08:39 Any development must first look at the safety issues in bristows, I personally consider it close to dangerous, although my season ticket renewal is not in doubt it will no longer be in bristows, not a week goes by without witnessing a fall or a trip, the age demographic of bristow inhabitees is predomininetly elderly, heaven forbid there was a fire at the rear of the stand that required evacuation, it would be carnage. Even the vertical handrails between each block for support stop two thirds of the way down.
In terms of numbers it is the largest area of the ground but it only has one exit route,in the family stand and the pop side you can go backwards , forwards or sidewards in the event of needing to leave in a hurry, Bristows has a singular option, down very steep steps and then a barrier to the pitch so funnelling fans left tthrough a very narrow corridor towards the exit.
At work, we have fire training that shows a 10 minute video of Bradford City fire. To say it's harrowing, would be an understatement. We narrowly avoided a similar incident, and thankfully, the days of wooden stands and construction and smoking at matches are behind us. It that incident, the fire escalated hugely, in seconds.

It's a worthy discussion point, but comes with risk if crowds suffer as a result of poor performance on the pitch. The example of the George Reynolds Arena, in Darlington, is testament to how things can go horribly wrong, although we wouldn't aspire to have a 25,000 seat stadium. Many times this season, I've defended the club from posters on social media that expected instant success because we have big nos. With increased capacity comes increased maintenance and compliance burden. The picture of the security stewards for their sponsored game showed about 50 of them. If they work for 4 hours that would be minimum £2000 per game in wages, so possibly double that as a fee to £4000. Michael Westcott said each supporter was worth £10-£11, so an increased stewarding burden isn't negligible. Plastic pitches don't need mowing, line marking, or fertiliser
I'd sit tight, personally. I doubt we'd approach 5,800 each home game and therefore not stress test what infrastructure we have. It would be good to add to, or improve to the match day experience and a fan zone would be a great addition.

Yes, Mark Ellis! Google says he's scored 14 times for them this season. Are they playing him up front!?North Curry House wrote: 29 Apr 2025, 20:50 It is Boreham Wood 4-3 winners tonight who visit Plainmoor on Saturday. They were 1-3!down after 83 mins and scored the winner in 90+6.

Boreham Wood or Dorking?
He's a wannabee Z-list celebrity. Amusing at times but can be a knob head.numpte wrote: 29 Apr 2025, 20:53 Well, ding dong finish but I watched this double screened with the Arsenal game and Boreham Wood were woeful until the Dorking player got sent off. Two comedy own goals and I’d say Dorking were by far the better side. We should have the away terrace too as Dorking seemed to take quite a few to this one but not any more. I just watched the Dorking v Torquay Bunch of Amateurs today and Marc White came across as a bit of a numpte.

Playoff Semi Final Tickets
I famously don't always read the 'instructions', but the sale conditions were clearly posted Saturday evening. I know this because I was chuntering about my ruined plans Sunday morning. I attempted to open the ticket page at about 9:50 and it went straight to a notice about being in a queue. Got on at about 10:02 and bought 5 tickets in Bristow's (as normal). By the time I'd checked out, there were only 2 tickets left in Block C, and by 10:10 most blocks were 'amber'!

The Drama of the next 49 Days in the NLS
I have to agree. It was hinted at by the owners, too. Generates cash for the club and raises the profile significantly. If we finished 2nd, we'd be in the box seat for sure. No away team will relish playing us at home atm.Dilmond wrote: 23 Apr 2025, 09:26 Do we really want to make up the goal difference between us and Truro - let us look at the alternatives?
Losing out to Truro by one goal would be like a Torvill & Dean moment, a Pure Cosmic Alignment.
Alternatives: of course we still have to win this coming Saturday, but on doing so, that will put us top of the also rans and looking at another sold out Plainmoor. No season tickets for this one, just money in the bank for next season. On winning that game () that would mean yet another sold out home game, and the need to open another bank account to hold all the money!
That is my preference: Pure Cosmic Alignment, and " loads a money!"
Dorking and Boreham Wood are 500/1 on being champions, currently. Worth a quid, that bet!

The Drama of the next 49 Days in the NLS
There are some errors here:Louis wrote: 21 Apr 2025, 21:41 Forgive me for ChatGPTing here but I thought this view would be useful…
Final Day Fixtures
• Truro City vs. St Albans City (home)
• Torquay United vs. Hemel Hempstead Town (away)
• Eastbourne Borough vs. Worthing (home)
• Boreham Wood vs. Maidstone United (home)
• Dorking Wanderers vs. Weston-super-Mare (away)
Possible Outcomes for Torquay United
1. Torquay Win, Truro Draw or Lose: Torquay would finish with 89 points. If Truro draws, they reach 87 points; if they lose, they remain at 86. In both scenarios, Torquay would surpass Truro and potentially win the title, depending on other results.
2. Torquay Win, Truro Win: Both teams would end with 89 points. The title would then be decided by goal difference. Torquay would need to win by at least two more goals than Truro to overtake them. For example, if Truro wins 1-0, Torquay would need a 3-0 victory to claim the title.
3. Torquay Draw, Truro Lose: Torquay would have 87 points; Truro would stay at 86. Torquay would win the league.
4. Torquay Draw, Truro Draw: Torquay would have 87 points; Truro would have 87. Goal difference would determine the champion. Torquay would need to ensure their goal difference surpasses Truro’s.
5. Torquay Lose: Torquay would remain at 86 points. If Truro also loses, both stay at 86, and goal difference decides the title. If Eastbourne Borough or Worthing win their match, they could leapfrog both teams to win the league.
Additional Considerations
• Eastbourne Borough vs. Worthing: This match is crucial. The winner could potentially overtake both Truro and Torquay if they fail to win. A draw would likely keep both behind, unless Truro and Torquay both lose.
• Boreham Wood and Dorking Wanderers: Both teams are on 83 points. With significant goal differences (+36 and +33, respectively), a win combined with losses from the top teams could see them clinch the title.
Summary
Torquay United must aim for a decisive win against Hemel Hempstead Town and hope that Truro City either draws or loses to St Albans City. The outcome of the Eastbourne Borough vs. Worthing match is also pivotal, as the winner could challenge for the title if Truro and Torquay falter.
1. Eastbourne play WSM last day
2. Borehamwood are away at Tonbridge
3. Dorking are home to Chesham shitehouses
4. We possibly need to score 4-0 if Truro win 1-0, as they have more wins and we'd have same goal difference. Unsure if goals scored has primacy over matches won?
5. Para 4. in text above doesn't work if Truro and Torquay draw
6. If Truro and Torquay both lose, any of the 4 teams below can win overtake us and be crowned champions

How many tickets available to Gulls in total? HH average attendance is 786, so it could be a real Plainmoor home from home.

Hemel v Torquay Sat 26th Apr 3pm
This is a tough one. Go all out with attacking flair and we risk the counter punch. Not winning the game and sacrificing 2nd or 3rd spot would be a hammer blow. I see a cagey first half and maybe accelerating in the second. A home draw in play off games would be massive and you'd have to say we'd be favourites. 2 home play off games would net the club circa £100k and that is not to be sniffed at (make up for the FA Cup run we never had).
I still feel Truro will win and we'll need to score minimum of 4 goals.
So I'm going Hemel 0 - Gulls 4

A game we need to win with a decent goal difference. If Weymouth come to draw, then we may struggle to break them down. I'm going for 3 - 0 Gulls win, roared on by 5205 fans
