Referees

Post by Gullscorer »

I was just wondering, how often do referees have their eyes tested?

If we are required to have excellent eyesight for driving purposes, then it's surely just as important for referees to have the clarity of vision needed to see whether a ball has, or has not, crossed the line, or whether it's a deliberate or a fair foul...

Do referees have to prove their far-sightedness, as we have to do in a driving test? Some of the actions of referees I've seen give me cause for doubt... I know we all have different viewpoints from the ref in a game, and the ref's job ain't always easy, but I'm sure you've seen a few referees' odd decisions too, and wondered about his eyesight...?

Or perhaps I should try and find my way to an optician? Just a thought... :|

How he didn't see that Benners got the ball, I'll never know. Equally, how the lino have Rene offside for a couple of them is a mystery to me. Offside is a matter of absolute fact, there is no conjecture and at the very least twice the lino got it wrong.

Calm down Super you'll have a coronary embolism!! :-/

Attwell is a penis though. :-D
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

FL referees get regular tests that include fitness and eye tests.

Do think that referees outside the premier league; are not on contracts(even down to my level), they have other jobs so their training and tests are not as regular. I think contracts should be issued to every referee for all professional leagues but this isn't happening at current.
