I may have missed it in UK news, but I never came across this video of it, except here:

The driver of the train has been formally detained. The police chief in the Galicia region, Jaime Iglesias, said that driver Francisco Jose Garzon Amo would be questioned "as a suspect for a crime linked to the cause of the accident".
The president of railway firm Renfe, Julio Gomez Pomar, was quoted as saying the 52-year-old driver had 30 years of experience with the company and had been operating trains on the line for more than a year. He said the train which derailed had no technical problems.
No technical problems? How can anyone say that at this stage? Looks very much like a hurried effort to shift the blame and find an easy scapegoat: the driver with thirty years’ experience..!!

I have walked the Camino de Santiago (all 1000km of it) and indeed am about to walk there again starting on Wednesday.
It didn't get any press here but the crash prevented the Saint James Day celebrations (Santiago is Saint James in Latin) but on hearing of the train crash the pilgrims left Mass en masse to donated blood.
Santiago is a beautiful, holy city.
