Exeter v Torquay Premier Cup thing

Post by ferrarilover »

Might as well have a match thread for this.

What time's kick off and how much is it to get in, anyone know?

Matt.

I must have missed this. What's going on? I gather it's a game against City but I've heard nothing of this up to now.

I was looking forward to this last week as we would have been fielding a strong young side but due to the injuries to the first team players a few will be withdrawn. Cruise won't play now, neither will Niall Thomson or Damon Lathrope. So as I said I expect a few youth team players to replace them and on that basis I think it will be a defeat for us.

Yeah, I'll make the hop up there, see what I can see. My jabs are up to date, so I should be ok.

Realistically - this is now going to be a spanking. We have very little outside of (apart from up-front) the first 11 at the moment.

I think the lad Hutchings is decent rich, everytime ive watched him he's played with great maturity and composure, in the last game against ilfracombe and I know their not the best but he was superb.

I agree super - Hutchings is a big prospect but the point I was making is that Exeter will likely have a team of fringe players where as we will be made up of mainly youth players will the some fringe player (Hutchings/Craig/Sully/Cameron/Benyon) among them.

We look ok for wingers and strikers but after this we only have 1 fringe player in midfield and 1 at the back. Not the most solid of foundations when you compare what Exeter will field.

In fact - the back five is likely to have one pro (Hutchings who is only 17 despite his talent) and the rest of it will be kids so it literally will be men against boys in this respect.

I can't disagree with you on that post rich your spot on, Exeter have a good bunch of younger pros such as Jamie Reid, Matt grimes and jake gosling etc. when we played the reserve fixture although me knill did play that weird formation they spanked us 5-1. So if that is anything to go by it will be a difficult evening.

U21 game, 1 over age goalkeeper and 3 outfield players too are allowed.
