Three man central midfield of Lathrope, Labadie and one other? Might as well go for Craig as although like Manse he 's not the best ball winner, he can, unlike Mansell, pass the ball effectively. Maybe Cooper and he'll keep Mansell out of the side with a good performance? Although I thought he'd be our first choice left back yesterday. Either that, or might Labadie and Lathrope be a strong central pairing on their own? At least we have options and I do hope we don't play a half fit Mansell for this one as that would be both unnecessary and the worst of our options.

I think the stage will be set for Cooper to step in, as much as it would be great to see Craig tested in a 3 man midfield.

Not surprised as he had a heavy fall early in the second half yesterday. I spotted him holding his back several times after that. If the Burton game is on and if Manse misses out my guess is Cooper will play.

I know exactly what you are getting at Stef, and I can see what you, and others, mean - but he is our captain, has been so since the days of Bucks and since then no manager has seen fit to drop him for any amount of games, save those he has been injured or not available for.
The fact that Greavsie is a mate of his shouldn't make a difference, but the fact that Kev has played every game since Juan left, and indeed both games Chris has been manager of, as well as the fact that he appears to be bringing back both Danny and Scotty, suggests to me that Manse has nothing to worry about just yet.
I would imagine that, even if we win on Tuesday, Manse will, if fit, be back for Pompey at the expense of either whomever replaces him for Burton, or another midfielder (Damon perhaps).
