I was just thinking to myself that if The Heed had a striker up there instead of a couple of statues then they can win this game. On comes Jack Lester! Gateshead would be ok for me but I'd prefer Cambridge to stay down as there is more to do and see.
Can Lester nick a leveller?
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I also saw a lad in the Gateshead end with a Newcastle United shirt on. Maybe someone should have told him they weren't playing?
Not that he would have noticed. I might go to the champions league final in a Villarreal shirt.

Gateshead it is then. Our furthest away game for some number of years. Well done to Cambridge as well, they deserve to be back in the FL and with the exception of a few teams like Wrexham for example, it follows the trend of ex league clubs eventually getting back out of the conference within a reasonable timeframe. Hope for Torquay then?

Cambridge will always be a bigger club than Gateshead. Every year the conference has these flash-in-the-pan sides who cannot sustain it from one year to the next.
Gateshead fall into this category. Make no mistake, they have had a great season but how many promotion pushes can a sub-1000 average gate sustain?

Agreed, respect to them they've had a fantastic season. I might even make THAT journey to show my respect lol.
What's the chances of making that one a TQY away day and doubling their gate? Do easy Jet fly to Newcastle from Exeter?
