Brazil destroyed.
Can anyone comprehend the destruction of the Brazilians tonight. I thought it might be a battle of two major forces. But Germany have outplayed them so effectivley that Torqauy would have had a chance of beating them on tonoghts perforrmance.
Their fans are even appluading the German play and goals. Who would ever bet against them winning the final

I fully expected Germany to win the game, Brazil have had the best of some poor refereeing decisions, and slice of luck along the way, it ran out tonight as they were completely exposed by the most complete team around, mentally, physically and technically, only Germany can beat themselves now, be a real shock if they don't win it.

It felt at times that the Germans were playing a team of cardboard cutouts. Germany were quite amazing and Brazil totally shocking. I felt a bit sorry for Fred (great name for a player, we should sign Sid), who was booed remorselessly by the Brazil fans (he was a donkey, but not responsible for conceding the goals).
For me it was David Luiz who should have received the ire of the fans, he was appalling (as he has been in each game that I have seen him). Mourinho did well to sell this guy for £50 million, great business for Chelsea.

i did wonder if there had been any odd betting patterns. They way they stood back and let the Germans in you have to wonder if they threw the match. almost unthinkable isnt it. But is it with all that money sloshing around in football and the corruption. If it does turn out there was some sort of scandel would it finish Fifa as a body

Not a chance. Brazilians are already totally livid about the performance and the result - if it emerged that the result was moody, there would be a riot. All of these Brazilian players are millionaires, so it's not economically feasible for somebody to try to fix it.Glostergull wrote:i did wonder if there had been any odd betting patterns. It's about time this lame cliche was put to rest. The last World Cup in South America was in 1978. That's 36 years ago. Air travel etc has moved on so much since then, that flying to Brazil is not as big of an endeavour as it was (let's face, the planes most of the teams travel in are probably better appointed than most peoples' houses). Also, given that most of the players now play in the same few leagues, it's no surprise at all that a European team can win there. It's probably also to do with a certain homogenisation of styles - in the past the South American sides played in a fashion that allowed them to conserve energy in the heat, but most international sides play in a similar way now so that differentiation isn't there.Behind-the-Gulls wrote:A European team winning the World Cup in South America?-they said it couldn't be done,it can be-and it will be.

No argument from me happtorq, totally agree, was having this conversation at work the other night, and my response to the lad I was speaking to was. You have to understand that for quite a few years now the top South American players have been playing all over Europe, South American players are now Europeanised, there is little or no difference in styles of play as you say, the mystique of playing against South American teams has gone .

I say, aren't Brasil a **** woeful side. Just like Argentina, they're 10 nobodies and a superstar. Horrifically poor, but a perfect example of exactly what I'm getting at when I say that so and so has scored all the goals for a team. Yeah, he's done well to score those girls and that's what he's paid for, but the point is always, what if he breaks his leg tomorrow? Well, this is what happens. The 10 nobodies become 11 nobodies and the whole thing comes crashing down in flames.

Ahahahahaha, what a superb autocorrect. I suspect that, if such a job existed in Torquay, the queue for interviews would end somewhere around Glasgow
